One Mans Worst Nightmare is Another's Dream Spot

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

David Umfleet limped in under the gun, and the player on the button did the same. Darin Parker then raised to 3,600 from the small blind, which the big blind called. Umfleet then sprang his trap, limp-raising to 17,000.

That removed the button player from the equation, but Parker moved all in from the small blind for around 95,000. The big blind folded, and the action was back on Umfleet, who had around 50,000 in his stack.

"This is my worst nightmare", he said before he put his chips in the middle.

Parker immediately tabled her hand and was a bit shocked when she saw Umfleet's holding.

David Umfleet: AA All in
Darin Parker: AK

"Why is that your worst nightmare?", Parker asked.

"Busting with aces," Umfleet responded.

If the 4KQ flop was uncomfortable for Umfleet, the 4 turn didn't calm his nerves, as Parker picked up a host of outs.

The 9 river was clean, though, and Parker slid over a stack of chips, giving Umfleet his double-up.

Hooper Sniffs Out Friedman's Bluff

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Michael Hooper bet 5,000 from under the gun on a board of 1086K3, and after a few moments, Prahlad Friedman jammed from the button, covering Hooper.

Hooper was the effective stack with around 30,000 behind and went deep into the tank. After a while, someone at the table called the clock, and before the countdown reached single digits, Hooper made the call.

Friedman sheepishly tabled JJ for a pair of jacks, knowing he was behind. He was exactly that, as Hooper turned over K10 for top two pair to earn the pot and the double-up just before the dinner break.

Never Go Broke in a Limped Pot

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Omar Nimer limped from early position, which saw Eelis Parssinen, Tianhang Zhang, Shaun Deeb, and Lazar Bartha all limp behind. Derek Sein-Lwin checked his option.

The KJ2 flop checked through to the 5 turn which saw Bartha lead for 1,100 from the small blind. Sein-Lwin folded, Nimer called, and Parssinen folded before Zhang raised to 5,000. Deeb and Bartha folded, but Nimer called again.

On the 6 river, Nimer checked to Zhang who bet enough to put Nimer at risk, and he shrugged as he called off his final 3,600.

Omar Nimer: 55 All in
Tianhang Zhang: A4

Nimer turned a set while Zhang was bluffing with the naked ace, but Nimer made the right call to double his stack.

Steinert Ships Polk Out With a Boat

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Doug Polk
Doug Polk

As recounted by Jason Steinert and Doug Polk, a player in middle position opened to 1,000 and Steinert three-bet to 3,000 from the cutoff. Polk cold four-bet to 7,000 on the button, which got a fold from the original raiser and a call from Steinert.

Steinert check-called a 4,000 bet from Polk on the 77J flop and checked again on the 5 turn.

Polk then moved all in for his remaining stack and Steinert snap-called to put Polk at risk.

Doug Polk: KKAll in
Jason Steinert: JJ

Polk was drawing to two outs, but no miracle came on the 9 river — sending the large pot over to Steinert and eliminating Polk from the Main Event.

Rodriguez Out; Glaser In

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Three players saw a flop of 9Q7 with small blind Kasey Mills and big blind Javier Rodriguez checking to button opener Jedidiah Hoffman. He checked back, and the three saw an A turn.

Here, Mills led out for 1,700 into around 4,000, and Rodriguez made the call. Hoffman folded, bringing in the J river. Mills slowed down with a check, and Rodriguez moved all in for 6,900. Mills thought for some time before putting in the call.

Javier Rodriguez: J10All in
Kasey Mills: A7

Two pair for Mills was good against the pair of Rodriguez.

Elsewhere in Horseshoe Silver, PPC Champion Benny Glaser took his seat.

Almada Flushes Out Queens

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The hand was picked up on the river with Tomas Mineika betting 12,000 from the small blind on a board of QK283.

Gonzalo Almada moved all in from the hijack.

Mineika, who had a total of 39,000 chips, pondered a call for a bit before pushing them forward.

Tomas Mineika: QQAll in
Gonzalo Almada: A9

Almada quickly tabled the nut-flush he made on the turn. Mineika tossed his flopped set into the muck, as he got up to leave.

David Oppenheim was already in a hand sitting in late position and against Ryan Leng in the cutoff. The pair were looking at a 74J flop with a pot of around 3,000.

Oppenheim bet 800, Leng raised to 3,100 and Oppenheim called. A 2 turn saw both check to the river which saw the 5 complete the board.

Oppenheim bet out 11,000 and action went to Leng. It didn't take long for him to muck his cards, giving Oppenheim a small chip-up.

Kyosev showed AK for trips, and Lee mucked.

Eric Afriat
Eric Afriat

With a completed board of 77K58, Eric Afriat bet 6,000 from the small blind, Patrick Wise called from the big blind, and the action was on Nicholas Tango in middle position.

Tango went deep into the tank, eventually prompting another player at the table to call the clock. When the countdown almost expired, Tango elected to fold.

Afriat tabled K4 for a flush to earn the pot, while Wise could only show KQ for top pair.
