Daniel Negreanu

Ben Ludlow raised to 500 in middle position. Hugo Nazar called in the hijack, enticing Daniel Negreanu to three-bet to 2,500 on the button. Ludlow called before Nazar folded.

Negreanu tossed in another 2,500 on the 8J5 flop. Ludlow check-called to the 7 turn, where he saw his opponent size up to 4,500.

"Alright, take it," Ludlow said as he folded AK.

"You had me. I got lucky," Negreanu stated as he won the pot with what he claimed was ace-jack for top pair.

On the next deal, Ludlow again made it 500, this time from under the gun. Negreanu called in the cutoff, after which the duo both checked the A610 flop.

Ludlow went on to bet 900 on the 5 turn and 1,300 on the 3 river. Negreanu called him both times, seeing Ludlow turn over QJ for a bluff.

Negreanu had A8, once again having flopped top pair to win consecutive pots.

Lander First to Fall on Day 1d After Wild Bluff Gone Wrong

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

As recounted by Bryan Buonocore and Nicolas Vayssieres, Vayssieres made it 500 from under the gun and was called by Buonocore in the small blind. Patrick Lander then squeezed to 1,500 from the big blind and both Vayssieres and Buonocore called.

The flop came 9x8x4x and Buonocore checked to Lander, who continued for 2,000. Both Vayssieres and Buonocore called.

An Ax fell on the turn and Buonocore checked. Lander bet 2,000, which got a fold from Vayssieres, but a check-raise from Buonocore to 7,000. Lander called.

A Kx completed the board and Buonocore fired 12,000 into the middle. Lander responded with a shove and Buonocore tank-called with 8x8x for a set. Lander could only show 6x5x for a busted gutshot and was eliminated.
