Zhou Mucks to Mckay

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Yang Zhou opened to 1,000 from middle position and Richard Mckay called from the button.

The J210 flop prompted Zhou to check-call a 1,000 bet by Mckay and the pair were taken to the 7 turn.

Zhou checked again and Mckay bet 2,600. Zhou made another call to see the 3 river.

Both checked to showdown and Mckay turned over his AJ for ace high, which was enough to see Zhou muck her cards.

Big Pot, No Showdown

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Picking up the action with roughly 15,000 already in the middle, Michael Monroig checked from the small blind on a 42J3 board. Rajiv Khanna put a bet of 6,100 into the pot from middle position, which saw Monroig check-raise to 14,000, and Khanna called.

The K river completed the board, and Monroig bet 21,000. Khanna gave it serious consideration, but ultimately chose to surrender as he folded his hand.

Garett Maybery

Garett Maybery bet 1,600 from early position on a flop of 310J and Matthew Brown raised to 4,500 in the hijack. Tetsuma Ishizu then raised to 11,000 under the gun, and only Maybery called.

The turn was the 5 and Ishizu bet 16,000. Maybery then moved all in, and Ishizu snap-called for 52,000.

Maybery showed 33 for a set, but Ishizu had 1010 for a set of tens. Ishizu was poised to take the massive pot and double up until the 3 fell on the river, giving Maybery quads and the knockout. Ishizu shot back in his seat in disbelief before getting up and exchanging a fist bump with Maybery as he headed to the rail.

It's happened again. Four straight days of immediate Day 1 eliminations — 300 blinds deep — in the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event, but this one was different.

Day 1d, which began at 11 a.m. PT on Sunday, had over 2,700 players registered when the UFC's "Suga" Sean O'Malley announced "shuffle up and deal." One of those players — Patrick Lander — was gone less than a half hour after the first hand was dealt, with six-high.

Hao Steals from Diaz

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Zhengshan Hao opened to 400 from under the gun, and Erick Diaz three-bet to 1,500 from the hijack. Hao called, and the pair went heads-up to the flop.

The 7109 was fanned, and Hao check-called a 1,500 bet by Diaz to see the 8 turn.

Both made quick checks to see the 3 river, and Hao bet out 7,200. Diaz took some time to consider his options before throwing his hand into the muck.
