Button Eemil Tuominen three-bet an open-raise from Nicholas Howard in the cutoff. Howard went on to check-call bets from Tuominen on the 6♣4♠10♥ flop and 7♦ turn.
The pot had grown to 17,000 by the time the 5♥ river appeared. Howard checked again, seeing Tuominen complete his triple barrel with a bet of 15,500.
Howard mulled it over for a while, but eventually decided to fold and grant the pot to his opponent.
David Berman raised to 700 in the hijack, Anthony Farelli three-bet to 2,200 in the big blind, and Berman called.
The flop came 8♣10♣9♠ and Farelli bet 1,600. Berman called to the 6♥ turn, where Farelli bet another 3,500. Berman again called.
The river was the 10♥ and Farelli bet 7,500. Berman snap-called and turned over A♣7♣ for a straight, and Farelli mucked A♥K♣.
At the same time on the next table over, Erik Friberg had opened to 600 under the gun and Douglas Timmer three-bet to 1,600 in the hijack. Yevgeniy Minakrin called on the button, as did Friberg.
The flop came 5♥6♣2♣ and Timmer bet 1,600. Both opponents called to see the 8♠ turn, where Friberg led out for 5,500. Only Timmer called.
Friberg bet another 13,000 on the 4♣ river, and Timmer quickly surrendered the pot to the 2006 Main Event finalist.
With 3,400 in the pot already, Anson Tsang checked in the cutoff. Sitting on Tsang's direct left on the button, Cliff Josephy bet 1,200, and Tsang called.
The 9♦ on the turn completed the flush, which prompted Tsang to lead for 2,000. Josephy folded, surrendering the pot to the three-time bracelet winner on his right.
Alejandro Avendano opened from middle position and Sevag Yedalian called from the cutoff. Denny Crum raised to 2,000 from the big blind and both players topped up to call.
The K♠8♥9♠ flop saw Crum bet 1,800 and only Yedalian called. A J♦ turn saw Crum bet another 2,500 and Yedalian paid to see the J♠ river.
Crum asked for a final 5,000 and Yedalian went into a small tank, before mucking his hand.
From the hijack, Elliot Lee knuckled the action to Lukas Zaskodny in the cutoff after the 4♣4♥8♥ flop. Zaskodny bet 2,000, and Lee put in a raise to 5,000. Zaskodny continued with a call.
The 9♠ arrived on the turn, and Lee fired for 7,500. Zaskodny wasn't going anywhere just yet as he called to see the last card.
The 3♣ completed the board, and Lee bet 15,000. Zaskodny had only about 18,500 behind and pretty quickly stuck in the call.
Lee revealed 6♦4♦ for flopped trips, which was good enough to win the pot as Zaskodny mucked.
There were roughly 5,000 chips in the pot on a flop of 4♥J♥Q♣.
Roberts Rumba in early position checked to Zachary Bruch who was on the button and he fired out a bet of 1,500, then Rumba called.
Bruch kept up the aggression and fired a bet of 2,500 on the 8♣ turn, and Rumba check-called again.
Bruch went for three streets of betting when the 3♣ fell on the river with a bet of 7,500, and Rumba snap-folded.
A completed board of 8♦2♣2♦7♠Q♦ was between Jon Swift in the big blind and Eliot Hudon on the button, along with a pot of 4,500.
Swift checked to Hudon, who bet big as he tossed 5,400 into the pot. Swift called after a short tank, but he could not beat the A♥2♥ of Hudon and mucked his cards.
One table over, Alex Foxen started his Main Event journey with a fresh stack of 60,000.
Serge Saraidarian opened from the cutoff. Nolan Curatolo in the small blind called before Thomas Bellanger in the big blind three-bet to 2,500. Both Saraidarian and Curatolo called.
The dealer fanned a flop of 5♠2♠10♦ and Bellanger bet 4,000. Saraidarian folded but Curatolo went deep into the tank before check-raising to 11,500. Bellanger made the call.
After they checked the Q♥ turn, Curatolo checked the 9♦ river. Bellanger bet 10,000 and Curatolo folded.
David Finley raised to 600 under the gun and Andy Tsai, the high-stakes pro better known as "Andy Stacks," three-bet to 1,800 in middle position. Finley came back with a four-bet to 4,800, and Tsai called.
The flop came J♣5♣5♠ and Finley continued for 5,200. Tsai quickly folded, and Finley took the pot.
