Samuel Ju Claims the $1,100 NLH Turbo Trophy

Last night's $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo event at the Wynn Summer Classic had 158 entrants, easily surpassing the $100,000 guarantee with $154,050 in the prize pool.

There were some big winners, but none bigger than Samuel Ju, who earned $39,507 and the Wynn replica trophy after defeating Oscar Romero Cobos heads-up for the title. The runner-up didn't get the trophy, but he can't feel too bad after having won $23,721.

Zhicheng Miao came in third place for $16,934, followed by Sara Ralston receiving $12,924 for third place, and Alan Merdita rounded out the top five with a $9,742 score.

This same tournament will run again tonight at 6 p.m. PT.

Adrian Mateos Among High Roller Chip Leaders

Another day, another high roller run for the great Adrian Mateos, one of the greatest no-limit hold'em players in history.

Mateos, who won the $250,000 Super High Roller at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) earlier this month, showed up at the Wynn Summer Classic on Thursday to compete in the $25,800 High Roller. He hasn't won this one, yet, but he did bag the second-largest stack out of four remaining players.

Mateos will enter today's action with 1,615,000 chips, not far off leader Jovan Kenjic, who will come back with 1,805,000. Vladimir Minko (970,000) and Barak Wisbrod (620,000) will return to action with the short stacks.

Someone is going to win over $1.8 million in a couple days in the Wynn Summer Championship, and two players will get over $1 million.

The $10,400 buy-in event at the Wynn Summer Classic is moving on to Day 3 today with $11,466,000 in the pot from a field of 1,170 players. While it may be too early for anyone remaining to get too excited about the potential massive payouts, no one is better positioned than Linglin Zeng out of the final 64 players.

Zeng, a popular player on Hustler Casino Live, bagged the biggest stack at 2,505,000 last night. But the lead is razor thing over her two nearest competitors — Aleksandr Shevliakov (2,490,000) and Guy Benshushan (2,470,000).

Action resumes at noon PT on Friday, and we're going to see some massive payjumps as the day progresses. The Wynn Summer Championship will play down to a winner on Sunday.
