Breive Overbets River

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Lucas Bandeira raised to 700 in early position, which only Giedrius Breive called in the cutoff.

Bandeira bet 600 on the flop and 1,600 on the turn of a Q7J3 board, and Breive called both times.

The 10 river saw Bandeira slow down, checking to Breive, who put in an overbet of 12,000.

Bandeira gave it some thought before electing to muck his cards.

Lucas Among the Early Casualties on Day 1b

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Siegfried Friedl
Siegfried Friedl

The completed board showed J6386, and Siegfried Friedl had checked out of the small blind when Kelly Lucas verbally bet 23,000, tossing in the green T-25,000 chip. She only had small chip denominations behind, and Friedl went deep into the tank.

"So do you want me to call or fold?" Friedl asked Lucas, who gave no response. A few moments later, Friedl called, and Lucas tabled her QQ. Friedl had that beat with the 53 for a flush, and that left Lucas on a mere 2,600 in chips, which she lost soon after.

Braddock Ships it on Ramos

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

There was approximately 15,000 in the pot on a complete board that read K96Q4.

Luc Ramos bet out 10,000 on the river from the big blind position. Oliver Braddock was willing to risk it all as he jammed for 33,500 on the button in response.

Ramos took a while to make a decision, but he ultimately decided to fold to award the sizable pot to Braddock.

Carlos Peixoto was heard cheering after he had just secured a double up from early position through Reginald Alston in the big blind.

The pot stood at 17,300 and the board was already dealt with players looking at the 6A3KJ runout. Peixoto had just 2,800 left that he committed to on the river.

Reginald Alston: AK

Alston had flopped top pair, turned two pair, but Peixoto had rivered the heart flush to secure him the pot.

Esfandiari Can't Handle Kristoffersen's "Serious" Bet

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Oystein Kristoffersen raised to 700 from middle position and was called by Antonio Esfandiari in the big blind.

Esfandiari check-called a 2,000 bet from Kristoffersen on the A10Q flop and Esfandiari checked again on the 4 turn.

Kristoffersen announced a bet of 9,000, which gave Esfandiari a bit of a shock.

"Nine thousand!? That's a pretty serious bet..." Esfandiari mused.

"Easy money," Esfandiari said as he sent his cards into the muck.

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

On a completed board of J9728, Adam Travis made it 3,000 to go. He was reluctantly called by Benjamin Gros on the button and then got to show down 65 for the bottom end of the straight. That was good enough to win the pot, as Gros sent his cards into the muck.

Duronio Picks Off Menneteau

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Robert Mitchell checked first from the small blind on a board of J68Q, and Benjamin Duronio bet 4,000 from the big blind. Loic Menneteau called in middle position, and Mitchell also came along.

The 5 completed the board, and the action checked to Menneteau. After taking some time, he bet 20,000. Mitchell tank-folded, but Duronio eventually made the call.

Menneteau tabled K10 for a busted straight draw, but it was no good against Duronio's AQ for a pair of queens.

"That's All It Takes, Aces!"

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Yubin Tao opened from under the gun, and action folded to Mitchell Garshofsky, who three-bet to 3,000 on the button. Tao four-bet jammed for his last 20,300, and Garshofsky made a swift call to cover him.

Yubin Tao: AAAll in
Mitchell Garshofsky: AK

Tao was looking to hold with his pocket aces, and the 64Q flop kept him ahead. There was a small sweat of the backdoor straight or flush for Garshofsky, but that soon ended when the 8 was turned.

Tao locked up the double on the 3 river and remained in the main event. After the hand, he remarked, "That's all it takes, aces!" and another player at the table said, "You might make it to Day 2 now, just fold everything."

Pair Turned Bluff

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Noam Tsaitlin opened to 800 in early position, and Jeremy Dan defended his big blind.

Dan check-called a continuation bet of 500 on a KK8 flop, before the J turn checked through.

The J river saw Dan take over the betting lead, putting 1,500 into the pot. When Tsaitlin called, Dan tabled a counterfeited 55, and Tsaitlin took down the pot with his A7, good for a rivered flush.
