Kogovsek Scores a Double

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With some 20,500 in the middle, Tomaz Kogovsek had been all-in for the 25,100 he had behind and his {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} ended up as the winner. The cards of his opponent were already mucked as they paid off Kogovsek on a {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts} board, which saw Kogovsek prevail with his seven-high straight.

Late Entries and Casualties

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Vittoz Eliminated by Mattioli

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Daniele Mattioli
Daniele Mattioli

Jerome Vittoz raised the pot to 5,400 and was called by Daniele Mattioli and Ottavio Benelli out of the blinds. On the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, only Mattioli check-called a bet worth 5,000 by Vittoz and then led the {6-Hearts} turn for 5,000.

Vittoz raised the pot for the vast majority of his stack and then called all-in for around 50,000 when Mattioli pushed.

Jerome Vittoz: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Daniele Mattioli: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The {2-Diamonds} river was a blank and sent Vittoz to the rail.

Stroke Chops to Chip Up

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Ernst Stoller raised the pot and Shawn Stroke called all-in out of the small blind for the last 3,300. Udo Hemmert called in the big blind and the two active players checked the entire board of {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Stroke tabled the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, which chopped with the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} of Stoller as Hemmert's {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts} only had an inferior pair of queens.

Post Dinner Casualties

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

According to the tournament info, there are 166 entries so far and just 66 players remain near the end of level nine.

Svec Eliminated by Sen

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a flop of {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}, the chips of Tomas Svec went unto the middle and he tabled the {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for the top and bottom pair with a gutshot. Big stack Orhan Sen called with {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} for the top two pair and a lower straight draw.

Nothing changed with the {5-Diamonds} turn and {k-Diamonds} river to send even more chips over to Sen.

Mattioli Leads; Magalashvli Back In

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Daniele Mattioli
Daniele Mattioli

Daniele Mattioli has emerged as the chip leader prior to the dinner break while the same table also features Michael Magalashvili. It was the latter who had knocked out Dario Alioto after his {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} cracked the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} of Alioto on a {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} runout when he rivered a flush.
