More Casualties in Quick Succession

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Past midnight, a quartet of players was sent to the rail in quick succesion and that included Andrea Tropea, among others. With now 183 entries on Day 1a, fewer than one third of the field remains in the penultimate level of late registration.

Toth Eliminated by Tsaknis

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Richard Toth
Richard Toth

The stack of Richard Toth went in before the flop and he was looked up by Vasileios Tsaknis, who was still somewhat steaming from the previously lost massive pot.

Richard Toth: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Vasileios Tsaknis: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

On a board of {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Toth failed to get there with his dominated pair as Tsaknis earned some chips back.

Bogusz Wins Massive Three-Way All-In

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Karol Bogusz
Karol Bogusz

On a flop of {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, the action checked to Vasileios Tsaknis and he bet 9,500. Karol Bogusz flat-called and Marek Golebiewski then jammed for 23,800. Tsaknis raised the pot, Bogusz jammed and Tsaknis called.

Marek Golebiewski: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Karol Bogusz: {a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Vasileios Tsaknis: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}

Tsaknis had the top set but many of his outs were blocked if Bogusz were to improve with his flush draw and open-ender. The {10-Clubs} turn gave Golebiewski an open-ender as well but it was Bogusz who nailed the {8-Diamonds} river. He doubled through Tsaknis for 141,700 and Tsaknis rumbled, then added "just write fuck off."

Sen Gets Shown a Bluff

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Orhan Sen raised to 3,700 and then called a pot-sized three-bet to 12,800 by Kourka Vlantouts in the big blind. On a {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, Vlantouts checked and Sen bet 5,000. The check-raise to 13,000 by Vlantouts followed and Sen folded to get shown the {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

"I folded ace-king-ten with ace-ten of clubs," Bianca Jacobs in the small blind mentioned right before the table broke.

Stroke Wins Without Showdown

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Shawn Stroke
Shawn Stroke

Shawn Stroke recovered from the severe short stack not long ago and just now bet the {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} turn for 5,000. Marcello Miniucchi check-called out of the big blind and checked again the {4-Spades} river. Stroke bet 9,000 and earned a snap-fold.

In the moment the hand concluded, Michal Mrakes arrived on the table with his re-entry stack and the words "hello guys", along with a smile on the face.

Big Knockout for Tsaknis

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With plenty of chips in the middle until the {9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} river, Jad Khaddage bet 30,000 with fewer than that behind. Vasileios Tsaknis then raised and Khaddage was in the tank.

"Do you really have six-five? Okay, if you have it, good game," and then called.

Tsaknis nodded and tabld the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for the nuts, which had Khaddage's {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} beat. Also no longer in contention for now is Nils Linden, who was eliminated a few minutes earlier.
