Fan Makes the Wrong Call to Send Trayner's Stack Soaring

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Malcolm Trayner
Malcolm Trayner

Heads-up on a board of 3K27 with several hundred thousand already in the middle, Chih Wei Fan bet 275,000 from the big blind and Malcolm Trayner called in middle position.

The 4 completed the board and Fan slightly increased his wager for a bet of 300,000. Trayner thought a while before announcing he was all in, which was enough to put Fan all in for his last 975,000.

Fan went deep into the tank and began quietly listing what he thought Trayner's hands could be.

After a few minutes, Fan reluctantly called all in and Trayner turned over KQ for a pair of kings. Fan showed he held QQ for a pair of queens and was eliminated.

"I level myself too much..." Fan said. "Good game."

Defending Champ Michael Mizrachi Eliminated from 2026 WSOP Main Event

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

Michael Mizrachi won't be making history with back-to-back World Series of Poker Main Event victories.

The defending champion's title defense fizzled out on Day 5, where he was eliminated in 241st for $50,000. Mizrachi survived nearly five full days in poker's biggest tournament but couldn't recreate the remarkable run that ended with a $10 million payday 12 months ago.

Mizrachi, who navigated all ten days of the Main Event on his way to the world championship last summer, once again found himself among the survivors deep into Day 5. This time, however, his run was halted before the tournament's biggest payouts, ending any hopes of becoming the first player since Johnny Chan in 1987 and 1988 to successfully defend the WSOP Main Event title.

Fittingly, it would take a fellow Main Event champion to end The Grinder's run.

Skidgel Sent Home by Song

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Wendell Skidgel
Wendell Skidgel

Wendell Skidgel was already all in and at risk from under the gun and covered by two players. Daewoong Song was in the small blind and Jamie Shaevel in the big blind.

The pot stood at around 1,500,000 and the QK5 flop had just been dealt. Song checked, and Shaevel checked behind.

A 10 was turned and both checked again to see the 6 river complete the board. Song bet out 250,000 which was enough to see Shaevel muck and Skidgel got to see his fate.

Wendell Skidgel: A10All in
Daewoong Song: AJ

Skidgel had turned a pair of tens, but it wasn't enough as Song had picked up the heart flush.

Arieh's 2026 Main Event Adventure Ends

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

Arriving at the table to see Josh Arieh all-in and at risk for around 800,000 from the blinds, with Simon Britton trying to score the knockout from the button.

Josh Arieh: KJ All in
Simon Britton: 44

Britton had the chance to eliminate the seven-time bracelet winner if his pocket fours could win the race.

Arieh found no help on the 563 flop, and his hopes took another hit when Britton improved to a straight on the 7 turn.

The 6 river didn't bring Arieh a chop, and he wished the table good luck before making his exit from the Main Event.
