Tempers Flare After Hero Call Gone Wrong in WSOP Main Event: 'Shut Up!'

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Andreas Staschewski

The floor was called after a hand was exposed, and a player was eliminated from the 2026 WSOP Main Event on a hero call gone horribly wrong.

Day 2d is underway at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Hundreds of new players have entered the $10,000 buy-in World Championship tournament, with registration set to close following the second level on Tuesday.

The money bubble likely won't burst until early on Day 4. But the pressure is still on the remaining players, and it showed in one hand where an eliminated player got into it with his opponent.

Vera Lays Down a Pair to Zuccarello

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Cero Zuccarello raised to 4,000 under the gun, Ruben Vera three-bet to 17,000 in the cutoff, and Zuccarello called.

The flop came 549 and Vera continued for 25,000. Zuccarello then moved all in, and Vera quickly tossed 88 into the muck and saved his last 40,000 for another hand.

This is the final break of the day as the remaining 2,476 have gone on a 20-minute break. They will return to play one more level before bagging up for the night.

Here are some of the highlights:

Play will resume at 9:06 pm with blinds at 1,000/2,000, with a 2,000 big blind ante.

Cynn Chips Up

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The 1074 flop led to a check from Mccarthy. Cynn continued for 3,500 and was called by Mccarthy.

Mccarthy checked the K turn before Cynn put out 10,000. Mccarthy folded to award the pot to Cynn.

Nitty Nitty

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

There was about 100,000 sat in the middle and up for grabs.

The dealer had fanned out the board of 99749.

Nicholas Sena-Hopkins checked from early position to Farid Labibkiyarash in middle position who tanked for a while and checked back.

"That is the nittiest check back in the history of check backs" joked Sena-Hopkins as he tabled his KK to claim the pot having Labibkiyarash's JJ crushed.

Wintersberger Notches Up an Elimination

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
David Wintersberger
David Wintersberger

David Wintersberger hails from the southern part of Germany and it seemed somewhat fitting that he was the one to look up William Souther in the following preflop contest.

William Souther: KK All in
David Wintersberger: AQ

Not just one but two aces came on the A102A3 runout and that spelled the end for Souther just before the penultimate level of the night concluded.

Pang Doubles Through Klein

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Loren Klein raised to 3,500 from middle position and was called by Liyang Pang in the cutoff and Kevin Grabel in the big blind.

Grabel checked to Klein, who continued for 5,000 on the 25K flop. Pang called and Grabel folded.

Klein check-called a 16,500 bet from Pang and then check-called after Pang shoved for his last 34,000 on the 9 river.

Pang tabled AA and Klein nodded his head in acknowledgement and said "Nice hand," before sending his cards into the muck.
