Updated Chip Counts For the Final Six

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

PJ Grace Eliminated in 7th Place ($9,124)

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
PJ Grace
PJ Grace

PJ Grace opened for 20,000 and was called by John Michalak, The flop came {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Grace led out for 25,000. Michalak bet 200,000 which was enough to set Grace all in. Grace made the call with {J-}{J-} which was ahead of the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} that Michalak had. The turn changed that, however, as it was the {K-Clubs} to give Michalak a flush.

Grace still had outs to a six or Jack but the river was the {5-Diamonds} and he was eliminated in 7th place. Michalak in the meantime becomes the first player to top the one million chip mark.

Danny Clements Eliminated in 8th Place ($7,096)

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 500 ante
Danny Clements
Danny Clements

Joey Couden opened the action from late position and snap-called Danny Clements all-in re-raise from the small blind. The two were racing as Couden had {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and Clements had {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

The race was over quickly as the flop would come {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The turn was the {2-Spades} and the river was the {A-Hearts} and Clements was eliminated in 8th place while Couden continued his hot run.

Stephen Birtcher Eliminated in 9th Place ($5,576)

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 500 ante
Stephen Birtcher
Stephen Birtcher

Stephen Birtcher survived countless all in's but his luck finally ran out. He called off his last 6K on a {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop with {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and was up against Joey Coulden's {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. A nine would give Birtcher more than five times what he started the hand with but the turn was the {3-Spades} and the river was the {10-Diamonds} to give Couden a full house and eliminating Birtcher in 9th place.

Danny Clements Spikes King to Stay Alive

Level 20 : 4,000/8,000, 500 ante

Scott Dehm opened to 20,000 from early position and Danny Clements moved all in for 137,000 total from the small blind. After getting a count, Dehm made the call and turned over {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. When he saw Clements had {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, Dehm said "I wish you wouldn't have done that" as if he knew he was going to lose the hand.

Dehm was prophetic as the board would run out {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs} to give Clements new life while Dehm was clipped down to 220,000 in chips.

Break/Updated Chip Counts

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Players have a little less than 10 minutes left on their break. Here are updated chip counts:

Trevor Renner Eliminated in 10th Place ($4,562)

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Trevor Renner
Trevor Renner

Trevor Renner moved all in with {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} but had the bad timing to run into the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} that Todd Funderburg held. Funderburg also moved all in and Renner would be eliminated when the board ran out {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

It was quite the day for Renner who started off slowly and was down to less than 10,000 in chips. He would run that up to one of the top stacks in the room before running into a dry spell at the end of the day.

Birtcher Triples Up

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Steve Birtcher limped in for 6,000 leaving himself with just 18,000. After a quick peek at Birchter's stack, Scott Dehm raised it to 25,000. Jimmie Adams called and it was folded back to Birchter who went all in for 1,000 less than Dehm's raise.

The flop came {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and both Adams and Dehm checked.

Dehm led out with a small bet on the {10-Clubs} turn and Adams folded. Dehm turned over {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and Birchter pleaded with the dealer "pair the board" as he turned over {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and Birchter danced over to his friends and family on the rail. "Yes, Yes!" he said as he gave them high fives.
