Originally from Columbus, Ohio, but now residing in South Florida, Joey Couden is a professional poker player with more than $3.4 million in lifetime earnings dating back to 2008, according to The Hendon Mob. That includes a career-best score of $2254,470 winning thr $3,000 Nine-Game Mix, which also earned him one of his three World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets.
Couden first cashed at the WSOP in 2009, doing so in the $2,500 Limit/No-Limit Hold'em Mixed event. At the 2012 WSOP, Couden enjoyed his first WSOP final table appearance, finishing fourth in the $2,500 Eight Game for a then-career-best $76,841.
Several five-figure scores followed before Couden banked a pair of $100,000+ prizes in the space of a month. First, he won a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event in Pompano Beach for $154,762 in July 2015. Less than a month later, Couden collected $150,000 for a sixth-place finish in the $5,250 NLHE Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.
In April 2018, Couden finished fourth in the $3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown for $251,523. That summer, he won the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better event at the WSOP for his first bracelet and $244,370.
Couden continued going deep in bracelet-awarding events, including several final table appearances, but a second bracelet continued eluding him. That was until the 2025 WSOP when Couden triumphed in the $500 No-Limit Hold'em Salute to Warriors for $187,937 and his second piece of WSOP hardware.
Couden became a three-time bracelet winner in 2026, taking down the $3,000 Nine-Game Mix event for a new career-best $254,470.
