Banicevic Gets Value from Mikolaitis

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

On the heads-up turn of {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}, Dominykas Mikolaitis checked the big blind and called a bet worth 2,600 by Vlado Banicevic on the button. Mikolaitis checked again the {a-Hearts} on the river and called another bet worth 5,700.

Banicevic turned over the {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} for the ace-high straight and that won the pot.

Assorted Casualties on Day 1b

Another One Bites the Dust on Table 15

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

The board read {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} when Benjamin Saada and Jonathan Schuman were heads-up with Schuman all-in and at risk for his last chips as Saada had him covered.

Jonathan Schuman: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Benjamin Saada: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Saada had flopped the straight while Schuman held a straight draw. Only a nine could save Schuman for the higher straight but the river completed the board with the {10-Spades} to send Schuman away from Table 15.

Over on the other tables, Terry Jordon and Daniel Rezaei had vacated their seats.

Ruijs Loses Bigger Pot to Bartos

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

On a flop of {5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Gergely Bartos in the big blind check-raised from 1,000 to 3,000 and Joris Ruijs reraised to 7,500 to pick up a call by Bartos. They checked the {a-Hearts} on the turn and Bartos then bet the {10-Hearts} river for 12,000. Ruijs made the call after brief consideration and Bartos turned over {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a flush to leave Ruijs on fewer than half the starting stack.

Sorensson More Than Doubles

Sebastian Sorensson
Sebastian Sorensson

A player opened from middle position to 800 and Alberto Borsoi called from the cutoff. Kenny Hallaert sat on the button and three-bet to 3,500. The small blind folded and Sebastian Sorensson was seated in the big blind and he just called. The initial raiser got out of the way and Borsoi called as well.

The flop was dealt {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} and it checked to Hallaert who continued with a bet of 4,000. Sorensson and Borsoi both called to see the turn and that was the {k-Diamonds}.

Sorensson opted to jam right away on the turn for 10,800 and Borsoi called. Hallaert tanked for a minute before he let go of his hand.

Sorensson opened up {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and he was ahead of the {a-Spades}{9-Spades} of Borsoi. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and that was safe for Sorensson who doubled up.

Ahoor Eliminated by Bedell

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

On a completed board of {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{4-Spades}, Tom Bedell had moved all in for 10,200 and Parham Ahoor had even fewer chips than that behind. Ahoor eventually check-called all-in and Bedell tabled the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for top set, Ahoor hit the rail with {k-Spades}{9-Spades} for two pair.

"Do I look like a tight nerd to you?!"

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Gregory Armand
Gregory Armand

Peter Hedlund had raised to 1,100 and Gregory Armand responded with a three-bet to 3,500 a few seats over. Action folded back to Hedlund who was sitting in the tank. Hedlund seemed a bit agitated and tanked for a bit longer before folding {a-}{k-}.

"I am showing I had a good hand," Hedlund said and added: "It looked like you had aces..."

Armand looked surprised and replied: "Do I look like a tight nerd to you?!"

Hedlund got up from his chair: "If this was the cash games, I'd play, but you looked like you had aces! It's a different story on the cash games."

Armand just smiled as a response.
