Clock!

Level 17 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

We're now exactly two eliminations away from the money, and players are stalling left and right. Hand for hand is not in play yet, but it won't be long as play has slowed down a lot.

The clock was just called on both Sam Greenwood and Adrian Mateos, both of which are among the short stacks.

Finger Gets a Lucky Double

Level 17 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Martin Finger
Martin Finger

Martin Finger was just all in for his tournament life worth 201,000 chips, and a split pot seems almost inevitable against Viacheslav Buldygin.

Buldygin: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Finger: {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The flop brought out {Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Finger picked up a back door flush draw. On the turn the {6-Diamonds} hit, giving Finger a flush draw, and Buldygin asked the dealer to put no more diamonds out.

The river however brought the {2-Diamonds} and Finger hit his flush to double up.

No Money for Holz

Level 17 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

We just caught the end of Fedor Holz's bust out, as he ran his two pair into the set of Iacopo Brandi just before the money bubble. The board showed {8-Spades}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, and with a lot of chips already in the middle, Holz moved all in. Brandi called right away and tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Holz slammed his {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} in frustration on the table.

Holz was visibly disappointed, as we are now just two eliminations away from the money.

Lebedev Out, Mandavia Near the Top

Level 17 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Sergey Lebedev moved all in under the gun for 456,000 and from his direct left it was Ankush Mandavia who shoved as well. Mandavia was all in for 636,000 and the other players folded, including Mike McMcDonald who initially asked for a count.

Mandavia: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Lebedev: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Mandavia raked in a huge pot after Lebedev first took the lead on the flop after hitting a pair of aces.

Haxton Eliminates Tollerene

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

In the dinner break Isaac Haxton was one of the smaller stacks. By now he has almost ten times what he had at the time.

Ben Tollerene just open jammed from the cutoff and Isaac Haxton in the small blind was waiting for him with {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. Tollerene had p9h9s] and couldn't improve on {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Haxton now the chip leader!

Boeree Doubled Through Holz

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

"I doubled," Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree said with a big smile, as she now sits on a comfortable stack heading into the bubble stages of this event.

Boeree told us how she ended up all in with pocket eights against Fedor Holz's ace-queen, and the pocket pair held up.

Mateos Doubles Through Luca

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Adrian Mateos got his 500,000 in the middle before the flop against Ivan Luca. Mateos had a drawing hand with the {9-Spades}{10-Spades}, Luca a made one with the {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

The flop came {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Mateos picked up a gutshot. The {K-Spades} on the turn was one of the better cards for Mateos giving him a flush draw and counterfeit outs, though he still needed to hit of course.

The {Q-Diamonds} on the river was one of the good cards for the Spanish champion and he doubled up through Luca.

Haxton Doubles Through Greenwood

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Action folded to Sam Greenwood in the small blind and the Canadian shoved all in to put the pressure on Isaac Haxton in the big blind. The American high stakes player had an easy call with {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} and pushed his 330,000 stack forward. Greenwood turned over {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The board ran out {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Haxton doubled.
