I Can Be Your Hero

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Japan's Kazuhiro Shirasawa has vaulted up into a spot among the leaders here in Level 8.

A massive set-over-set situation did the trick for Shirasawa and he's got close to 140,000 now.

Assorted Chip Counts

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Junyeob Song would have been on six digits already now if he had not lost 23,000 chips after a flop of {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to the player on his left, getting his {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} cracked by the {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for a flopped straight.

Break!

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

The players are now off on the final 10-minute break of the night. They will return to play two more one-hour levels before bagging up for the night.

Of the day's 260 entries, just 113 players now remain.

Huang Thriving

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Bryan Huang
Bryan Huang

Now sitting on the same table as fellow PokerStars Team Pro Celina Lin, Bryan Huang scored a big pot a minute prior to the break by winning a flip with {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} against the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} of another player for effectively 45,000. It was a four-bet shove of the player at risk and the re-shove for isolation by Huang to get the third player out of the hand.

Bounsall Bounces Kim

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Johnjin Kim has been eliminated and his chips went to Alexander Bounsall. "Oh wow. How can I fold this?" Kim was still heard saying and had spiked a set of eights on the turn while Bounsall trapped him with a flopped set of queens. The board {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} was just being rushed away and Bounsall busted another short-stack soon after with {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} versus {A-Spades}{7-Spades} after flopping a jack.

Razavi Loaded

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

"What happened?" we inquired when walking past the table of Sam Razavi and noticing the large stack of the Brit. "Oh, it was a guy from Malaysia," Razavi said and pointed towards the empty seat in the middle of the table. Razavi had flat-called a raise to 2,000 with pocket fours to see a flop of {A-}{4-}{5-}, the Malaysian check-raised from 4,000 to 8,000 and got called.

On the {10-} turn, the opponent of the Brit check-raised all in and Razavi called off with the bottom set after having fired 14,900. Only aces and tens were to be feared as the Malaysian had {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for top two pair, yet the river bricked off.

Flopping The Nut Straight

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Norwegian Rolf Galasen has moved his stack up above six figures here in Level 7.

His big move came in hand with a ton of fireworks three handed on a {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop. After an opening raise got called by one player, Galasen raised it up. The original raiser called before the original caller pushed all in.

Galasen followed suit for a lot more and the original raiser let it go.

Galasen had flopped the nut straight on {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and his opponent had decided to get frisky with {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. The {6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} turn and river gave him trips, but it wasn't enough.

Another Kim With Chips

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

"Wow I am lucky," Dongkyu Kim said after he had gotten his stack of 35 big blinds in preflop in a raising war with the player next to him, out of the big blind with the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. He faced the {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for his tournament life after being covered and completed a straight on the {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{8-Spades} board.

Shortly after he shoved out of the small blind with {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} and the remaining chips of the previous opponent vanished with {Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} on a board of {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Action With Kim

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

The player in one seat over from Johnjin Kim just almost tripled up to 40,000 chips while the former failed to score the pot with {A-Spades}{10-Spades} in a three-way all in. Another short-stack hit the rail with pocket queens while the second biggest stack in the hand won it all with the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} on a board of {J-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Spades} despite Kim's loud demand for a Ten.

One hand later, Sean Mcmahon opened to 1,600 and a short-stack moved all in for 6,600. Kim announced a raise from the cutoff before saying "I am all in". The Filipino counted his stack for 38,100 total and joked "tomorrow again" after Vivian Im woke up in the small blind with a curios look on the face. Ultimately Im, Thomas Ward in the big blind and Mcmahon mucked.

The short stack was at risk with {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} but Kim's {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} stayed ahead on a {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} board.
