Galasen Heats Up

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Rolf Galasen has been on a major heater the last couple of levels and has it up close to a little under 200,000 now.

"Before we finish it will be (200,000)," he joked.

The truth is the Norwegian has picked up a ton of premium hands in the {A-}{k-} and {A-}{Q-} range lately, riding the wave into the chip lead despite being at a table with Team PokerStars Pros Celina Lin and Bryan Huang, who sits just under him in the counts.

"I can't beat him," said Lin with a smile.

Another Good River for Kim

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

A short-stack was all in with the {A-}{9-} and Dongkyu Kim looked him up with the {A-Spades}{10-Spades}. The superior hand preflop was likely to split the pot after the {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} turn, but the {10-Clubs} river gave Kim the pot. He mumbled something about getting lucky again, however the better hand into the showdown also claimed the win this time.

Wilke Wins Four-Way All In

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

There were four players all in preflop with Dennis Wilke out of the small blind as second-shortest stack on 18,500 chips. Gab Yong Kim had more chips that that, though just a few big blinds and the biggest stack looked them all up with the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. The shortest stack was at risk with {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} while Wilke's {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} crushed everyone including Kim's {Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades} and the German more than tripled up his stack.

Yogo Got Chips Again

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Not even an hour ago, Iori Yogo was down to what looked like 18,000 chips and now the Japanese has more than quadrupled that stack. The latest hand saw him call a bet worth 6,500 by the player in the small blind on a {5-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} turn before the {7-Diamonds} river was checked to the Japanese.

Yogo slid forward a stack of T-1,000 chips and that bet immediately shut down all further action.

No Showdowns But Many Chips

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We have not witnessed any major showdowns for Vivian Im, but the PokerStars Team Pro is up all the way to 75,000 in chips and well above average. In a recent hand, she continued with a bet of 4,200 on a heads-up flop of {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Junyeob Song mucked his cards.

Give it to Huang

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Bryan Huang opened the action with a raise to 2,200 and the player on the button moved all in for 19,000. The Team PokerStars Pro thought it over for a short period of time and then decided to make the call, flipping over his {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}. It was a flip against the {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} of the player at risk and Huang stayed ahead thanks to a {Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} board.

Leonarez Dumps Some, Still Leads

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Manila's Jesse Leonarez had it up to 165,000 in chips and appeared to be running away with the Day 1a chip lead.

However, he opened to 2,100 in a recent hand and got one caller before a third player pushed all in for 24,600. Leonarez was the only caller with {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and would need help versus his opponent's {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

He got none on the {A-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts} run out, but still managed to hold on to what looks like the biggest stack in the room right now.

Rickhuss Cannot Double

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The three-bet chips of Edwin Hui and Wayde Rickhuss were already pushed into the main pot and Rickhuiss had shoved all in over the top for another 25,800 to see his opponent from Canada in the think tank. Hui eventually released his cards and Rickhuss laughed, but obviously wanted to have more.

"I wanted the call," the Australian joked and Hui replied with a "I know. I probably should have."

Both then settled to talk about the hand after the end of play.

Zhou Stops Free Fall

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Former big stack Xiang Zhou was down to less than 20 big blinds all of a sudden and just all in and at risk with the {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The cards of his opponent were already rushed away but the board included four spades and the nut flush of Zhou took it down.
