While Jeff Platt was interviewing the current chip leader Giovanni Zanette, Michael McNicholas limped from the small blind and called after Shiina Okamoto in the big blind raised to 85,000.

Both players checked a board of A95Q leading to the 9 river.

McNicholas bet small and Okamoto snap-called with Q3. McNicholas had Q8 so they split the pot.

River Raise Forces Shaw Off a Big Hand

Claudio Di Giacomo opened to 50,000 from middle position. Carl Shaw in the hijack three-bet to 200,000, and Alexandre Bermon called in the cutoff while Di Giacomo stepped aside.

Both players checked the 10J7 flop.

On the 3 turn, Shaw took the lead with a bet of 130,000, and Bermon stayed with him to see the river.

The Q completed the board, and Shaw fired again for 340,000. This time Bermon came back with a raise to 975,000. Shaw went deep into the tank, using four time bank cards, before open-mucking set with JJ.

"Ace-King?" he asked, and Bermon turned over AK for the straight, scooping a nice pot.

Tian Gets There and Takes It Down

Three players saw the flop with around 85,000 in the pot, and the board showing J107. Allan Tirel and Mengshi Tian both checked, and Ravi Sheth bet 60,000. Tirel quickly folded, but Tian made the call.

Both players checked the K turn.

The river brought the 3, and Tian led out for 175,000. Sheth folded, and Tian showed Q9 for a straight he picked up on the turn.

Lamenha De Araujo Five-Bets All-In

Gerardo Ulloa opened to 50,000 from middle position and Joao Lamenha De Araujo in the hijack three-bet to 150,000.

Jerry Odeen on the button four-bet to 290,000 and made the blinds and Ulloa fold, but Lamenha De Araujo five-bet all-in for 650,000.

Odeen went into the tank, looked at his cards one last time and folded.

Lulei Hu opened to 50,000 from the hijack and was called by Vasileios Panagiotidis in the cutoff. Alex Keating on the button three-bet to 180,000 and made Hu fold. Panagiotidis however raised all-in for 1,185,000. Keating snap-called.

Panagiotidis thought he was going to be eliminated and stood up, but the K24 flop gave him the nut flush draw to keep his hopes alive. After the 9 turn, the 6 river completed the flush and he doubled up.

Butuc Gets There on the Turn

Vlada Stojanovic opened to 55,000 from middle position. Gheorghe Butuc then three-bet to 310,000, leaving himself just 10,000 behind. Vladislav Donchev called from the big blind, and Stojanovic got out of the way.

The last 10,000 went in on the 10J8 flop, and Donchev made the call.

The A on the turn completed the straight for Butuc, and the 9 on the river did not change anything, allowing him to double up.
