Refos Takes One

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

The board read {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and the player in the big blind had checked. Raoul Refos, on the button, bet 3,300 and his opponent called.

The river completed the board with the {K-Clubs}, now Refos' opponent check-folded to the 6,600 bet of Refos.

Jalba Takes From Bailey

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

The board read {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and the pot had about 8,000 in it. Eusebiu Jalba, in the small blind, and Michael Bailey, in the cutoff, both checked. Jalba showed {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a pair of tens and that was enough for Bailey to muck his cards.

Defending Champion MacPhee Takes His Seat

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Kevin MacPhee has just taken his seat and looks to be ready to defend his title. MacPhee won the last WSOPE Main Event in 2015 in Berlin taking €883,000 and the gold bracelet back home to Idaho with him. 2015 was also the year where he won his first WSOP gold bracelet in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo event and two deep runs in two other events cashing over a ton in each.

Van Zadelhoff Loses To Tomovic

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Aleksandar Tomovic raised to 725 from the under-the-gun position and was called by Steven van Zadelhoff in the hijack and the player in the cutoff.

The flop came {8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Tomovic checked, Van Zadelhoff bet 1,500, the cutoff folded. Tomovic raised to 4,500 and Van Zadelhoff called.

The turn brought them the {10-Hearts}, Tomovic bet 8,000 and Van Zadelhoff took a bit of time to consider what to do. He then called.

The river completed the board with the {5-Diamonds} on which they both checked. Tomovic showed {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a set of deuces and the pot as Van Zadelhoff mucked his cards.

"Nice hand." Van Zadelhoff said while knocking the table.

Grafton Already Climbing

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Sam Grafton was one of the stars of the early days of the World Series of Poker Main Event this summer, bagging up one of the top stacks on Day 1 and reveling in his status as one of the leaders. He's off to a similar start here in Europe as we noted him dragging a few pots.

First, he checked a {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{k-Spades} flop from the big blind and saw an opponent bet 675. Grafton clicked back and induced a fold.

Then, Grafton bet 2,200 from the button on a {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop. The pot was about 7,000 before the bet, and an opponent in middle position made it 6,400 to go. Grafton peeled and the turn was a {j-Spades}. The middle player bet 15,000 and Grafton asked to his stack. It was about 20,000 more and Grafton told the dealer he was all in. That resulted in a snap-fold.
