Gathy Bests Rodawig

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

Michael Gathy had the lead on fourth street and bet fifth against Eric Rodawig, but the latter caught good and the former bad, and Rodawig raised. Gathy called and then called again on sixth.

Gathy: {x-}{x-}/{5-}{3-}{5-}{9-}
Rodawig: {x-}{x-}/{2-}{j-}{7-}{a-}

Rodawig bet on the end, but Gathy fired in a raise. Rodawig verbalized a quick call, but he couldn't beat the {a-}{2-}{7-} shown by Gathy for a seven-five.

Benyamine Bets Blind

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
David Benyamine
David Benyamine

David Benyamine: {X-}{X-} / {5-}{J-}{3-}{7-} / {X-}
Brandon Shack-Harris: {X-}{X-} / {3-}{6-}{2-}{J-} / {X-}
Frank Kassela: {X-}{X-} / {A-}{A-} fold

On fourth street, Shack-Harris bet and only Benyamine called.

The action was the same on fifth street.

On sixth street, Shack-Harris check-called Benyamine's bet.

On seventh street, Shack-Harris checked again and Benyamine bet blind while he was eating.

Shack-Harris made the call and Benyamine asked what he had to beat. Shack-Harris said, "I have a seven," and showed {7-}{5-}{2-}, to which Benyamine responded, "That's not good for me." Benyamine looked at his last card and mucked his hand.

Negreanu Trying to Find Some Momentum

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu is down to about half of a starting stack but recently took a pot off of Donnacha O'Dea. The Canadian star was showing {a-}{j-}{8-}{4-}, while O'Dea had what looked like a couple of sixes and an eight on board. Negreanu bet and O'Dea folded.

"Good fold," Negreanu said with a sigh. "You were drawing dead."

He showed {3-}{2-} for an eight-perfect.

Wasserson Wins One

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Eric Wasserson: {X-}{X-} / {8-}{3-}{A-}{9-} / {X-}
Opponent: {X-}{X-} / {7-}{8-}{6-}{3-} / {X-}
Anthony Zinno: {X-}{X-} / {4-}{J-}{9-} fold

On fourth street, Wasserson bet and both of his opponents called.

Wasserson bet again on fifth and Zinno folded.

On sixth and seventh, the opponent check-called Wasserson's bets.

Wasserson turned over {K-}{4-}{2-} for an eighty-four low and took down the pot.

David Bach who was at the table and nursing a short stack has recently been eliminated.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Fleck First to Fall

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Katherine Fleck was short but bet fourth and fifth streets against Eric Kurtzman, who had a bad board but stuck around.

Kurtzman: {x-}{x-} / {6-}{9-}{6-}{k-}
Fleck: {x-}{x-} / {a-}{7-}{4-}{a-}

Both players checked on sixth and seventh.

"Full house," Fleck said with a sigh, turning over {7-}{q-}{7-}. Kurtzman took it with {10-}{a-}{4-} for a ten-nine.

Left with just 2,300, Fleck got it in on the next hand on fourth street against Daniel Weinman and Randy Ohel.

Weinman: {x-}{x-} / {a-}{10-}{6-} (folded on fifth street)
Ohel: {x-}{x-} / {6-}{5-}{a-}
Fleck: {x-}{x-} / {8-}{9-}{5-}

On fifth, Ohel bet and Weinman folded. Ohel said he had a monster and showed {4-}{3-} for a made six. Fleck turned over {2-}{3-}, needing running cards. The {4-} was just the ticket, but a {q-} was a brick, and Ohel's unimproved six took it.
