Get Ready For The $2,500 Mixed Hi-Lo Event

Jason Daly
Jason Daly

Event #45: $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better; Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better kicks off at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas at 2 p.m. local time on June 14. Split Pot games may not have the hype around them like Texas Hold'em, but a strong field is expected to turn up for this one.

Split Pot games will bring the mixed-games specialists out of the woodwork, and this event should be no different, despite its buy-in being at the more affordable end of the scale.

Structure and Schedule

The $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better / Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better event begins at 2 p.m. local time on June 14, and is a three-day affair. Entrants sit down with a 35,000-chip stack, and play six 40-minute levels, then take it up to 60-minute levels starting at Level 7. Day 1 will end after 12 levels are completed, with a 15-minute break every two hours.

Day 2 starts at the slightly earlier time of 1 p.m. on Monday, June 15, and this is when PokerNews traditional coverage will begin. The clock continues at 60 minutes, and 10 levels are scheduled. Players will enjoy a 15-minute break every two levels, and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 18 (approx. 7:30 p.m. local time).

The third and final day's start time is yet to be determined, but it will be on Tuesday, June 16. Levels remain at 60 minutes; every two levels see a 15-minute break in the action, and the tournament staff will decide about a dinner break depending on how the tournament progresses.

Past Champions & History

Jason Daly won the $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better event in 2025, outlasting 574 opponents and taking home $244,674. The victory was Daly's second in a bracelet-awarding event, which he put down to his relentless aggression at the final table. That aggression also denied Phil Hellmuth his 18th career bracelet, as Daly stopped his deep run, busting Hellmuth in third place.
