Crazy Bad Beat Kicks Off Day 6 of WSOP Main Event

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Go Kato
Go Kato

It didn't take long for Day 6 of the World Series of Poker Main Event to produce its first jaw-dropping hand.

Just a few minutes into Saturday's action, one of the most brutal coolers of the tournament sent Go Kato to the rail in a hand that looked destined to end in a chop. Instead, Lauri Saaskilahti found the only possible way to win the pot, delivering a beat that would make anyone barf up their breakfast, lunch or dinner.

If this isn't the sickest elimination of Day 6, it'll take something special to top it.

Urban's Straight is Good

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Cade Lautenbacher opened to 125,000 from early position and David Urban defended his big blind.

Both players checked on the monotone 57Q flop and then Urban led out for 175,000 on the 6 turn. Lautenbacher called.

The 4 river brought four cards to a flush on board and both players checked. Urban turned over A3 for a rivered straight and Lautenbacher said, "Straight?" before sending his cards into the muck.

Big Double Up with Aces for O'Neal

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jose Rodriguez Zurita opened from early position, then John O'Neal in the hijack three-bet to 340,000. Rodriguez Zurita four-bet to 830,000, and O'Neal jammed for 3,015,000. Rodriguez Zurita snap-called.

John O'Neal: AA All in
Jose Rodriguez Zurita: AK

O'Neal held the lead with pocket aces, but Rodriguez Zurita flopped a flush draw on 646. The 7 turn and the Q river didn't complete the flush, so O'Neal secured a double-up.

Press Does His Best Doyle Impression

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Stephen Press moved all in for 555,000 from early position and Patrick Hagenlocher reshoved for 895,000 on the button. The action went on Rafael Caiaffa in the big blind, who took a minute to consider the decision. "Take your time, brother," Greg Mueller told him, and Caiaffa ended up folding.

Stephen Press: 102 All in
Patrick Hagenlocher: AK

"I'm going to need some help," Press said, and he got it on the J103 flop with a pair. Hagenlocher picked up a straight draw, but he couldn't catch up on the 9 turn or 5 river, and Press doubled up.

"Ten-deuce of clubs, in honor of Doyle Brunson," Mueller said.

"I had to play a bad hand," Press added. Caiaffa then claimed he folded AQ and would've made a flush to knock out both players.

Den Hartog Sent Packing by Hebbar

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Siebe den Hartog

Aaron Pinson made it 120,000 from middle position, and Siebe den Hartog three-bet to 1,225,000 in the cutoff, leaving himself with just a few chips behind. Shreesh Hebbar jammed from the button, covering everyone, which forced Pinson to fold. Den Hartog called off his remaining chips, and the cards were tabled.

Siebe den Hartog: QJ All in
Shreesh Hebbar: QQ

Den Hartog was in awful shape against Hebbar's ladies, and the 793 flop provided little help.

Den Hartog picked up a few outs on the 8 turn, but the 5 river was a brick, and he became the newest casualty of the Main Event.

Feck wasted no time four-bet jamming for around 1,600,000, and Yuan took a minute or so before folding.

Kevin Rand raised to 715,000 from under the gun. Ibrahim Naim on the button three-bet all in for 960,000, then Ryan Miller in the big blind went deep into the tank. He folded, and Rand called with the 30,000 he had behind.

Kevin Rand: 99 All in
Ibrahim Naim: AK

Naim flopped top pair on a board of K72Q8 to send Rand to the rail.

Moments later, Fabio Porcino, who only had 25,000 left, was eliminated from the same table.

One Big Blind for Eisenberg

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Anthony Lombard had been tanking for several hands, and the clock was called on him twice. He folded the first time and then raised to 630,000 the second time, leaving 5,000 behind before claiming the pot.

Peng Shan then raised to 120,000 in the cutoff and folded when Romain Lewis three-bet to 300,000.

Soon after that, Sam Snead opened to 175,000 in the cutoff for Lara Eisenberg and Felix Kuemayr to call out of the blinds. They checked the A53 flop to the 10 turn, on which Eisenberg bet 350,000 with one big blind behind. Kuemayr called and Snead folded.

Eisenberg checked the 2 river and then folded when Kuemayr bet 400,000.
