Kornegay Has "A Date to Destiny"

Jason Kornegay and Merle Sauvola got their chips into the middle in what shaped up to be one of the most classic flips with near identical stack sizes.

The board ran out A♥7♦4♠J♠K♣ and Kornegay doubled for 2,130,000, then exclaimed, "I got a date to destiny."

Sauvola was down to 145,000 and jammed the next hand, which Kyle Mart called in the cutoff.

Kyle Mart: A♥6♠

The Q♦3♦2♥9♥7♣ runout spelled the end for Sauvola.

At the same time, one table over in the Gold section, Brock Wilson and Sam Snead were all-in preflop as well.

The 8♥4♣2♥6♦9♥ board kept Wilson ahead all the way, and he also had Snead covered.

Anthony Lombard bowed out shortly after at the very end of the level as well.

At one of the feature tables, Masato Yokosawa was in middle position when he opened to 160,000 with A♥K♣. Vladimir Belekhov in the big blind three-bet to 550,000 with K♠K♥ and Yokosawa called.

The dealer fanned a flop of 5♥7♥Q♦, and Belekhov continued for 375,000. Yokosawa called but folded when Belekhov moved all in on the J♠ turn.

Wesley Fei opened to 160,000 from early position and was called by Kenneth Asher in the hijack, Zhao Liu in the cutoff, and Carlos Chadha Villamarin in the big blind for a four-way pot.

It was checked to Fei, who bet 275,000 on the 7♦Q♥J♦ flop. Asher folded, but Liu made it 1,000,000 to go. Villamarin got out of the way, and Fei moved all in for more. Liu called, and hands were revealed.

Zhao Liu: 8♦7♣

Fei was well ahead with top pair, and the 6♥3♥ runout kept him best for the double-up.

"It looks like we're colluding!" Fei said to Zhou as he collected the pot.
