Fei Dies a Hero on the River

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Wesley Fei
Wesley Fei

Wesley Fei raised to 250,000 in the hijack and Virgile Turchi called in the cutoff. Lauri Saaskilahti then three-bet to 850,000 on the button.

Fei, covering his face with his hoodie, spent a few minutes in the tank before moving all in for 3,280,000. He then buried his face on the rail of the table while Turchi quickly folded. "I don't have a good hand, but I think it must be better than you," Saaskilahti said.

"The only thing we know is you don't have aces," Zhao Liu added.

"I do have one ace," Saaskilahti said. He took off his sunglasses and tanked for a few more minutes until calling.

Wesley Fei: KK All in
Lauri Saaskilahti: A7

Fei was ahead with his kings, while Saaskilahti hit a pair on the 1072 flop to get some additional outs. The 4 turn was safe for Fei as he was one card away from a double-up, but Saaskilahti spiked the 7 on the river.

"Wesley, you died a hero," Liu told Fei.

"At least we made the pay jump," Fei said with a laugh as the clock had ticked down below 90 players just as the hand was playing out. He then snapped a photo of the board.

Fei reminded the table that he had cracked two queens earlier with the same ace-seven. "Karma," he said.

"Don't do that to me. Only to Wesley," Liu told Saaskilahti.

Angriest Double-Up of the Tournament

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Farid Jattin
Farid Jattin

Farid Jattin raised to 800,000 with just 50,000 behind and Cade Lautenbacher called in the small blind.

The flop of K69 checked through and both players checked again on the A turn. Lautenbacher then jokingly announced a bet of 5,000,000 on the 7 river and Jattin called with his remaining 50,000.

Farid Jattin: A9All in
Cade Lautenbacher: KQ

After Lautenbacher showed a pair, Jattin turned over two pair, smacking the table with all his might, twice, in celebration, leading to a warning from both the floor and dealer.

"We are in the Colosseum. Are we allowed to celebrate and be happy?" Jattin said facetiously, smacking the table one more time for good measure before getting up and throwing up a Breakfast Club fist pump in celebration.

Terrence Reid
Terrence Reid

Terrance Reid folded in the small blind, allowing Junjie Tang a walk in the big blind. Tang revealed he had been dealt KxKx.

The very next hand, Reid raised to 250,000 from the button, and Tang defended from the small blind.

Reid smiled and said, "I thought you were going to three-bet me because of the walk with kings."

Tang smiled back, and the two took a flop of AK6. Tang checked, and Reid continued for 180,000. Tang elected to call.

The 4 landed on the turn, and Tang checked again. Reid fired for 720,000, which was enough to get Tang to fold.

Why Will Givens Has Been Absent with a Big Stack Deep in WSOP Main Event

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Will Givens
Will Givens

Will Givens bagged a big stack on Day 5 in the WSOP Main Event, but he was mysteriously absent when play resumed Saturday morning.

It was a bit strange to see an empty chair this deep in the biggest tournament in the world, where the remaining players were playing for potentially millions of dollars. But Givens, a Will Kassouf of sorts at the poker table, had something better to do than arrive on time, he told PokerNews. Apparently, he can't crush it on the felt without the proper nutrition. More specifically, avocado toast.
