Kleinbeck Bests Sama

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Naveen Sama opened to 2,000 from early position, but Robin Kleinbeck put more chips in the pot when he three-bet to 6,400 from the hijack. Rafael Segoviano called out of the small blind, and Sama joined the fray with a call.

It checked all the way through on the QJ7 flop before the dealer put out the 4 turn.

Kleinbeck bet 6,500 after it was checked to him. Segoviano got out of the way, but Sama stayed in the hand with a call.

The 5 river was checked by Sama. Kleinbeck was not done betting as he put out 30,000.

Sama went into the tank as he pondered the spot. He took an inventory of his chips before he threw out one chip to signify a call.

Kleinbeck showed AQ for top pair top kicker. Sama tossed his hand into the muck to award Kleinbeck the pot.

Nakai Stops the Bleeding

Day 1a chip leader Ryuta Nakai has been having a bit of a rough start on Day 2abc, having lost approximately half of his stack since the start of play.

In a recent hand, Ryuta Nakai opened to 2,500 from the hijack and was called by Nikita Kalinin in the small blind and Paul Berger in the big blind.

Kalinin and Berger checked to Nakai, who continued for 3,500 on the 76Q flop. Kalinin called and Berger folded.

Both players checked down on the 4 turn and 8 river and Kalinin tabled K6 for a pair of sixes. Nakai turned over 1010 and was sent the pot.

Gallagher Shows Winner

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Joseph Gallagher opened to 2,500 from early position and was called in two places by Justus Marsico from the cutoff and Octavian Tarcau in the small blind.

Gallagher continued for 3,500 on the 228 flop before both opponents called.

The action slowed down on the A turn as all three remaining players checked.

Tarcau led out for 4,500 on the 4 river to resume the betting. Gallagher called, but Marsico folded.

Tarcau tapped the table in resignation as he showed 33 for two pair. He was correct that they were no good as Gallagher tabled JJ for a higher two pair to claim the pot.

Pauli Takes From Grime

Degiulio Gets Turned By Abramowicz

David Abramowicz called in first position and then called the jam of 19,400 from Paul Degiulio in early position.

The board ran out K10469, and the set of sixes was good for Abramowicz to eliminate Degiulio from the tournament.

At another table, Valentin Vornicu was eliminated.

With 19,000 in the middle to the 654K turn, James Tsou in the hijack bet 12,000. Tom McCormick was in a long tank and then folded in the cutoff before Chengbei Li called on the button. Tsou bet the 7 river for 35,000 for around half of his stack.

Li moved all in with the covering stack, and Tsou reluctantly called. Li tabled the 98 for the nine-high straight, and Tsou mucked the 8 face-up before his A was revealed as well.

Karavas With a Flush

There were roughly 20,000 chips in the pot on a board of 7K4KA.

John Karavas, who was in the cutoff, went all in for 25,700, and Konstantin Held, who was in the small blind, went deep into the tank, and after a few minutes, he eventually made the call.

Karavas tabled a flush with K2, and scooped the pot.

Allinson Doubles Through Hua

Action was picked up on the turn in a pot between Adele Allinson on the button and David Hua in first position with 19,400 in the middle.

The board read AK37 and Hua bet 9,000. Allinson responded by moving all in for 29,400 and Hua called.

Quint Wakes Up With Kings, Russell Rues His Fold

Joshua Quint raised to 2,000 under the gun and was called by Matthew Russell in middle position. Kiyokazu Okamoto then moved all in for 12,000 on the button, and Quint reraised to 28,000. Russell folded, claiming he had two jacks.

Quint had Okamoto crushed with his kings, and the flop came 653. The turn was the J, and Russell buried his face in his hands as he would've made a set. The 4 fell on the river, and Okamoto was sent to the rail.

"You got lucky, because I was calling you on that flop," Russell told Quint.
