Klein Tanks 15 Minutes for One Chip
With 72 players left and a $20,000 pay increase being one elimination away, Loren Klein raised to 975,000 in the hijack, leaving only 25,000 back, the lowest chip denomination in play. Tyler Gaston called in the small blind, stating, "I will let you stall for the pay jump."
"I appreciate that," Klein said.
Gaston then tossed in a blind bet before the dealer fanned the 7♥A♥6♥ flop, putting his opponent all in. Klein did not act for a good while, with none of the players at the table calling for the clock.
After 15 minutes, the floor came over to inform Klein he would have one more minute to act on his hand. At the end of the minute, he was given a five-second countdown, during which Klein finally tossed in his last chip.
Loren Klein: K♣4♥
Tyler Gaston: A♣6♦
Klein did not hit a heart on the 2♠ turn, and the 6♣ river upgraded Gaston to a full house. After all that, Klein said his goodbyes to his former tablemates in 72nd place, bubbling his desired pay jump.
