Todd Bales slid in a single 1,000 denomination chip from middle position, signifying a call. He pleaded to the dealer, saying that he announced a raise, but the decision was unchanged, allowing cutoff Jeffrey Muncy, button Angela Defoe, and small blind Jerry Lim all to come along. Big blind Jordan Siegel checked his option.
The flop 3♦A♠4♥ brought in checks from all players, leading the dealer to put out the K♠ turn. Here, Siegel opted to lead out for 1,000, and only Bales made the call. He bet out again for 4,000 on the J♦ river, and Bales called again, showing K♦J♥ for a backdoor two pair. However, Siegel's flopped straight with 5♣2♣ took home the pot. "Wouldn't have called that for a thousand," sighed Bales. "Probably not," replied Siegel
There was roughly 10,000 chips in the pot on a board of 10♦8♠7♥7♣.
Robert Gentile who was in early position bet 7,500, Siegfried Kapeller called in middle position, Douglas Wardrip called in the big blind and Jacob Beck folded under the gun.
Wardrip led out for 7,000 when the 6♣ hit the river, completing a four-card straight. His opponents all folded.
Dillon Najor opened to 1,000 from the cutoff and Daniel Allen called on the button.
The 7♥9♠J♥ flop saw Najor bet 1,600 and Allen called.
Both checked the K♥ turn to the 5♠ river.
Action was checked to showdown. Najor showed 5♦6♦ but Allen pipped him with J♦10♦.
Richard Dubini raised to 1,000 first to act and was three-bet to 2,200 by William Schuch from middle position. Carlos Guerrero called cold on the button and Ryan Leng called cold as well from the small blind. Dubini then made it 8,000 to go, which got a fold from Schuch and Guerrero and a call from Leng.
Leng and Dubini proceeded to check down on the 3♠6♠3♥ flop, 7♣ turn, and 10♥ river.
Leng turned over Q♠Q♦ and Dubini showed he held A♦K♠ before sending them into the muck.
Bohdan Slyvinskyi three-bet to 4,000 in the big blind and Carlos Ibarra called on the button.
The flop came Q♠J♦3♣ and Slyvinskyi continued for 3,000. Ibarra called and the turn was the 2♦.
Slyvinskyi checked to Ibarra who moved all in for 21,100. Slyvinskyi snap-called with A♥A♠, but Ibarra showed 2♥2♠ for a turned set.
The river was the Q♦ and Ibarra improved to a full house to secure the double up.
Under the gun, Adrien Guyader checked the 8♠9♣A♥7♣ turn over to Jessica Teusl in the next seat over. Teusl fired 4,000 into the pot of 3,300, which Guyader called after some thought.
The 6♦ arrived on the river, and Guyader quickly led out for 3,500. Teusl made an almost instantenous fold as the pot was shipped to the Frenchman.
Espen Sandvik and Fernando Cornejo went to a flop of 9♣4♣2♥ where Cornejo bet 2,400 from middle position. Sandvik called in early position.
The turn was the 10♦ and Cornejo bet another 6,500. Sandvik again called and they checked down the 10♣ river.
Sandvik turned over Q♠Q♣ and Cornejo mucked.
Jerome King called an early position raise of 1,000, before Mike Matusow three-bet on the button to 3,700.
The initial raiser folded, which brought the action back to King. He only needed a couple of seconds to make a decision, folding A♠Q♣ face up. Matusow half returned the favour, showing King the A♥.
Picking up the action on a 5♦7♦2♦9♥ turn, Sanjay Lal checked from the hijack to Lawrence Lipman on the button. Lipman promptly shoved all in for 18,400, a slight over-bet to the pot of 16,000.
After a few minutes in the tank, Lal called off to put Lipman at risk of an early elimination.
Lawrence Lipman: A♦7♠
Sanjay Lal: J♥J♣
Lipman needed an ace, seven, or diamond to appear on the river, but the 10♠ emerged from the deck instead.
Lipman shook hands with his neighbors before he departed the tournament area as his Main Event run came to an early end.
