Coming Up Short

Level 21 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

An early position player limped and Bryan Campanello made it 21,000 from the cutoff. John Short announced all in for roughly 110,000 from the small blind and action folded back to Campanello. He sighed and tossed out a call.

Campanello: {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Short: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

The two players were racing and Campanello jumped out into the lead when he paired up on the {9-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop. The turn was the {K-Spades} and the river the {6-Hearts}, allowing Campanello to send Short packing.

Campanello is now sitting no about 410,000.

Humphrey Flops Trips

Level 21 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Emmit Humphrey opened to 28,000 from under the gun plus one. The player in the next seat over called and the rest of the table folded.

The duo took a flop of {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Humphrey check-called a bet of 80,000. The turn was the {3-Spades} and the action checked down. They both checked again when the {A-Clubs} rivered and Humphrey showed {K-Hearts}{j-Spades} for trip jacks. His opponent mucked and he dragged in the pot. Humphrey is now flirting with 600,000 in chips.

Blakeman Cripples Clark Then Scores an Elimination

Level 20 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

When we got to the table, we saw David Clark and Dan Blakeman staring down at a board of {4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{A-Hearts}. Blakeman checked and Clark moved out a bet of 45,000. Blakeman tanked before calling.

"You're good," said Clark. "I have a seven."

Blakeman tabled {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for kings and took down the pot.

The next hand Blakeman, Clark, and a third player saw a flop that read {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. Two checks to Blakeman and he fired out 35,000. Clark released and the third player moved all in. Blakeman called and the hands were shown:

Blakeman: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}

Blakeman was ahead and stayed that way when he filled up on the subsequent streets as it came {Q-Spades} and {Q-Clubs}. By scoring this elimination, he's increased his stack to about 510,000.

Engel Bests Marshall

Level 20 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ari Engel raised to 14,000 from late position and received a call from Cary Marshall in the big blind.

The dealer spread out a flop that read {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and the action went check-check. Marshall checked again when the {A-Spades} turned and Engel fired 16,000. Marshall stuck around and the {3-Hearts} finished off the board. Marshall tapped the table for a third time and Engel bet 34,000. Marshall tank-called and Engel showed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for top pair-top kicker. Marshall mucked and Engel grabbed hold of the pot.

Chainsaw Out of Gas

Level 20 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler has been eliminated from play.

We missed his final moments, but he was kind enough to recap the action. In the first hand he opened from the button holding {8-}{8-}. The player in the big blind three-bet all in and Kessler called. His opponent showed {K-}{K-} and Kessler did not improve.

Not long after, Ari Engel opened before the flop and Kessler moved in his last 65,000. Engel called and showed {10-}{10-} which was ahead of Kessler's {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Kessler did not improve and he was sent to the rail.

Sanders Eliminates Pender

Level 20 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The flop read {7-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Michael Sanders bet an unknown amount. Josh Pender flat called to see the {9-Spades} drop down on fourth street. Sanders slowed down with a check and Pender took this opportunity to bet 35,000. Sanders replied by announcing that he was all in, which was actually a bet for all of Pender's stack. Pender called it off only to find that he was behind.

Pender: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Sanders: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

The river brought the {6-Diamonds} and Pender was eliminated from play. Sanders, on the other hand, now has roughly 480,000 in chips.

Level 20 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We got to the table to see Matthew Colvin all in before the flop against big-stack Nathan Bjerno. Colvin held {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and was ahead of Bjerno's {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}.

The flop brought {K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Bjerno jumped into the lead by pairing his jack. The turn paired the board with the {K-Hearts} and the board completed with the {5-Hearts}, ensuring that Bjerno finished with the best hand. By eliminating Colvin, Bjerno is now sitting on about 600,000 in chips and is the big stack in the room.
