In consecutive hands the blinds got all in against each other and one player was eliminated. Both times, it was Jason Conforti who won the hand.

First, Grant Pazarka shoved the small blind and Conforti called with {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}. He was ahead of the {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} of Pazarka. Both players flopped a pair, but Pazarka couldn't catch up.

The next hand, Conforti was in the small blind and raised. Jean-Philippe Lehoux shoved all in over the top and Conforti called with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. He was ahead of the {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} of Lehoux.

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Spades} and Conforti won the hand, eliminated his second player in as many hands, and stacked close to 2-million chips.

Leaders With 25 left in the PPC World Cup of Cards

Trevor Dixon has overtaken Roger Lamia as the chip leader, but Lamia is not far behind. There are 27 players remaining in the PPC World Cup of Cards.

Day 2 of the PPC World Cup of Cards Starts at 7:30 p.m. Roger Lamia Leads

The World Cup of Cards is going to finish another great tournament tonight, when Event #18: PPC World Cup of Cards concludes. The field of 37 players will return for Day 2 led by Roger Lamia who sports the big stack with 427,000.

The tournament expects to move fast, with 20-minute levels all day until the final table. Then the final table will play 30-minute levels. The tournament will continue until one player takes home the $7,980 first prize and claims the $4,500 Aruba PPC Package. The PPC always takes a percentage of the prizepool to give away PPC Aruba packages, which include hotel stays, flight credits, and tournament buy ins. The first place package includes a PPC Aruba Main Event buy in as well as a four nights hotel stay. The second place package offers five nights hotel stay and various lower tournament buy ins as well.

All in all, Playground Poker Club's World Cup of Cards is going strong. Just one day after, Richard Figiel won the $500,000 Guarantee Canadian Grand Prix, one player in the PPC will take home a first prize valued at over $12,000 dollars.

This is event #18 of the World Cup of Cards at Playground Poker Club. The WCC is a month-long poker festival.
