Manuel Stojanovic Leads the Final Six in the $100K PLO Main Event

Manuel Stojanovic

The $100,000 PLO Main Event has reached its final table, and only six players remain in contention for the $2,018,000 top prize and the title of champion. Leading the finalists back into battle from 12:00 p.m. local time on May 27 is Austria's Manuel Stojanovic.

Stojanovic bagged and tagged 7,875,000 chips after Day 2 concluded, the equivalent of 63 big blinds. The Pot-Limit Omaha specialist now holds a commanding lead, especially when you consider the average stack is 25 big blinds and only one player, Martin Dam (3,200,000), is above average.

The Austrian has $1,542,150 in live tournament earnings, with almost every cent of that total stemming from PLO events. In June 2025, Stojanovic finished fifth in the $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for a career-bet $519,892. Later in the same year, he busted ninth in the $100,000 PLO Main Event at Triton Jeju for another $279,000.

The money bubble burst on Day 2, and Stojanovic was involved. He clashed with Tom Vogelsang in a 41 big blind pot that saw Vogelsang turn three of a kind deuces, only for Stojanovic to improve to a full house on the river. Vogelsang crashed out in 14th place, while the 13 survivors locked in at least $152,000 for their efforts.

Igor Yaroshevskyy was the first player to fall inside the money places. Danny Tang, Cesar Garcia, and Artur Martirosian bowed out afterward, leaving nine players hunting the colossal $2,018,000 top prize.

Robert Cowen
Robert Cowen's elimination concluded Day 2

Stojanovic then sent Matthias Eibinger home in ninth before Sean Rafael busted at the hands of Patrik Antonius. The curtain came down on Day 2's proceedings when Stojanovic and Robert Cowen collided late on. Cowen was short-stacked and was all-in preflop with KK107 against the hot-running Austrian's AA86. The aces in Stojanovic's hand were enough to win the pot and send Cowen home in seventh.

The $100K PLO Main Event action resumes at 12:00 p.m. local time, with each of the six players guaranteed $456,000. Reaching heads-up locks in a seven-figure prize, with the eventual champion taking home $2,018,000. Right now, Stojanovic has one hand on that top prize, but the aforementioned Martin Dam, Laszlo Bujtas, Mike Watson, Patrik Antonius, and Daniel Dvoress will definitely have a say on where that two million ends up.

Cards are back in the air for Day 2 of the $100,000 PLO Main Event at the Triton Poker Series Montenegro, with registration now officially closed.

The tournament drew 76 entries, creating a massive $7,600,000 prize pool. Just 13 players will make the money, with a min-cash worth $152,000, while the eventual champion will walk away with a huge $2,018,000 top prize.

Matthias Eibinger came into the day as chip leader and still sits atop the counts early on, with Artur Martirosian and Dan Dvoress — who is hunting for his second title of the Montenegro series — among those giving chase.

A total of 38 players returned for Day 2, but the field has already thinned to 31 during the opening stages.

Among the early casualties were Anatoly Zlotnikov, Maksim Shornikau, Richard Gryko, Eelis Parssinen, Lautaro Guerra, Jason Koon, and Punnat Punsri.

Fans can follow all the action live on the Triton Poker YouTube channel as the race toward the money and the seven-figure first prize continues in Montenegro.

Tobias Schwecht Finally Cracks Triton Code After 62 Events

Tobias Schwecht
Tobias Schwecht

For three years, Tobias Schwecht kept coming back.

Ever since making his Triton Poker debut in Cyprus in 2023, the German high roller has been a regular presence on the tour, battling through some of the toughest fields in poker while chasing the breakthrough result that always seemed just out of reach. There were close calls along the way, including a pair of sixth-place finishes in 2025, while his biggest Triton payday prior to Montenegro came earlier this year in Jeju when he finished 18th in the $100,000 Main Event for $294,000.

But after 61 tournaments without a title, Schwecht finally got the monkey off his back at Maestral Resort & Casino, taking down $30,000 NLH/PLO at the Triton Poker Series Montenegro for $465,000.

The win came in his 62nd Triton appearance and represented not only his maiden title on the tour, but also the second-biggest score of his live tournament career. It lifted his Triton earnings to $2,990,100, while his total live tournament earnings now sit north of $4.7 million, according to The Hendon Mob.

Schwecht came out on top of a 53-entry field in the mixed-format event, which generated a $1,590,000 prize pool.

To get the trophy over the line, he had to deny one of the hottest players of the series.

Anatoly Zlotnikov
Anatoly Zlotnikov

Anatoly Zlotnikov continued his red-hot run in Montenegro with yet another deep finish, eventually falling heads-up for $344,000. Zlotnikov has been one of the standout performers of the stop, cashing six times across the opening nine events while recording a first, second, and third-place finish. He also banked $1.89 million for fifth place in the $200,000 Triton Invitational, and his latest score pushes his total series winnings to $3,385,000.

Cong Pham rounded out the podium with a third-place finish worth $217,000, while Triple Crown winner Mike Watson added another result to his stacked résumé in fourth for $164,000.

Ben Tollerene, Artur Martirosian, Isaac Haxton, and Danny Tang — all selected during Daniel Negreanu’s $25K Fantasy Draft ahead of the start of the 2026 World Series of Poker on Tuesday — finished fifth through eighth respectively, while Robert Cowen collected the final payout in ninth place.

Hero Call Gone Wrong Helps Aleksejs Ponakovs Win $150k Anniversary Special

Aleksejs Ponakovs
Aleksejs Ponakovs

Jonathan Jaffe looked poised to capture one of the biggest titles of his career before a brutal hero call swung the entire tournament in the closing stages of the $150,000 10th Anniversary Special at Triton Poker Montenegro.

Instead, it was Aleksejs Ponakovs celebrating under the lights after the Latvian high roller closed out the victory for $3,027,000, while Jaffe collected $2,103,000 as runner-up after a dramatic heads-up clash.

The special anniversary event attracted 76 entries and generated an $11,400,000 prize pool, with a stacked final table featuring some of the biggest names in the high-stakes world.

Ponakovs Wins Huge After Jaffe Hero Call

There were no easy spots at this final table. Every remaining player had extensive experience battling for massive sums, and Ponakovs had to navigate through a murderers’ row before finally lifting the trophy.

Igor Yaroshevskyy was the first to fall in ninth place for $319,000, followed by Mikalai Vaskaboinikau in eighth for $422,000 and Wai Kiat Lee in seventh for $541,000.

The eliminations kept coming as Triton regular Jason Koon exited in sixth place for $684,000 before Thai crusher Punnat Punsri bowed out in fifth for $878,000.

Austrian star Matthias Eibinger finished fourth for $1,088,000, leaving Ponakovs, Jaffe, and businessman Jean-Noel Thorel to battle for the title. Thorel eventually departed in third place for $1,390,000, setting up a deep-stacked heads-up duel between Ponakovs and Jaffe.

With both players sitting on more than 50 big blinds, the match looked set for a lengthy battle. Instead, one massive pot changed everything.

Ponakovs opened the button with queen-eight and Jaffe defended ace-deuce. The flop gave Ponakovs top pair and Jaffe bottom pair, and the Latvian continued betting through the turn before improving to two pair on the river.

After Jaffe checked for a final time, Ponakovs moved all in for 3,100,000 effective. Jaffe went deep into the tank before eventually making the call, only to see the bad news. The pot gave Ponakovs a commanding chip lead, and the tournament ended one hand later after the Latvian won a preflop race.

The victory pushes Ponakovs beyond $41 million in recorded live tournament earnings according to The Hendon Mob, extending his lead atop Latvia’s all-time money list. Jaffe, meanwhile, crossed the $22 million mark despite the painful finish.
