Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Kou Vang opened for what appeared to be 500 and saw the player in the hijack three-bet to 1,000. The small blind called, and Vang called. Action checked to the raiser on the {6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop, and he bet 2,000. The small blind raised to 5,000, and Vang shoved for a bit less. The hijack folded.

Vang: {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Small blind: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Vang turned an additional three outs when the {4-Hearts} came, but an {a-Hearts} river locked up the hand for the small blind by giving him trips.

Players are now on a 10-minute break.

Matthews Turns One Dead

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Craig Matthews just got it all in with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} on a flop of {3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. His opponent held a weaker draw with {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}, and both players hit their draws on the {7-Diamonds} turn, which left Matthews with a lock hand.

Hinkle Rivers Flush

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

The player in the small blind bet 3,125 on a board of {q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and Blair Hinkle raised to 6,500 from the button. The small blind expressed doubt that Hinkle would call the turn with ace-jack, and he announced a call.

Hinkle tabled {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a flush.

"Never put you on it," the small blind said. "Good hand."

Despite the numerous tough players here, Hinkle certainly has to be considered one of the favorites. He sports north of $3.5 million in live winnings, and just under $2 million more online.

Liu Takes from Pham

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

With the board reading {9-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Spades}, Christian Pham bet 775 out of the small blind and was called by Peixin Liu in the big. A {5-Hearts} completed the board, and Pham bet an unknown amount before being immediately called. Liu showed {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for turned trips to best Pham's {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, good for top pair.

Also, we spotted Grant Hinkle and DJ Buckley, who made the final table of MSPT Ho-Chunk two weeks ago, in the field.

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Brett Schwertley
Brett Schwertley

Brett Schwertley shoved all in for just under 3,000 on the end with the board reading {6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} and was called by an opponent holding {a-}{j-}. Schwertley showed {8-}{8-} for a set of eights, and he doubled up shortly after losing the majority of his stack with {a-}{a-} against an opponent who made a straight with {q-}{10-}.

Lance Harris

Lance Harris bet 2,225 out of the small blind with the board reading {9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.
