Anand Kumar bet the Q♦7♠4♦6♥ turn and called a raise to 45,000 by John van der Westhuizen. They checked the K♠ river and van der Westhuizen tabled the 5♣5♦, Kumar had that beat with Q♣J♦.

The field has been reduced to the last 45 players and the second 15-minute break of the day is underway.
In what started as a limped pot, the action escalated on the K♦7♣5♦8♣ turn with Roy Bitton on the button taking on Norman Cherry in the big blind. Cherry had the best of it with 9♠6♠ for the high end of the straight while Bitton only had the 6♥4♠ for the bottom end.
Nothing changed with the Q♣ river and Cherry doubled for 248,000.
One table over, Massimo Zanette open-jammed for the last 76,000 and Alvin Pillay called out of the blinds.

Teren Rumnundlall pushed all-in for the last 74,000 and Kinesh Pather looked him up with the superior stack.

The inferior king improved on the A♠10♥8♣ flop and 10♠ turn, but Pather still had a flush draw and straight draw. Nothing changed with the A♥ river except for Rumnundlall improving to a full house.
Ahmed Karrim had been eliminated from table 11 and another two players followed soon after. First to fall was Wouter Van Der Merwe, who was left with a severe short stack and his all-in was called by Jarred Solomon.

The A♣8♠4♦ flop left Van Der Merwe on the ropes and the J♣3♦ runout sealed his fate. Timothy Du Plessis followed right after when he was all-in for fewer than a full big blind.
Samuel Tebege tangled with Anand Kumar on the feature table and bet the J♠9♠6♣7♠ turn for 35,000 with the K♦K♣ from under the gun, Kumar called with the K♥Q♠. The river brought the 3♦ and Tebege's bet of 65,000 did the trick, as Kumar folded his missed combo draw.
The chips went in after a flop of J♠8♦7♠ with Jamie Vilela as the at-risk player versus Roy Bitton.
