Chip and a Chair for Karlsen After Three-Way All-In

A player opened to 2,000, and received calls from two players including Luca Ittiresu, before SiGMA ambassador Drea Karlsen three-bet jammed from the button for 46,500.

Marcus Larsson was in the big blind, and he took a bit of time for thought before four-betting to around 100,000, covering all remaining players.

The opener and first caller got out of the way, but Ittiresu moved his 46,000 total stack into the middle.

Ittiresu was in a dream spot with queens, although he was unlikely to improve.

A big pot of 100,000 had developed by the river on a board of Q♥J♠6♣9♠5♦, in a hand between Michael Scheurer and Karol Guzla.

Scheurer jammed for 35,500 and Guzla went deep into the tank. After around two minutes, he sent his cards to the dealer.

Flashback: SiGMA Poker Tour Kicks Off in Brazil with Orpaz Victory

The curtains were drawn on the first-ever SiGMA Poker Tour festival in April, held at the Monte Carlo Poker Club in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The $770 Main Event was the main attraction following the SiGMA gaming conference, and there was no shortage of entertainment throughout the series.

The festival was capped off with a dominant performance from Deddi Orpaz, who entered the final table as the chip leader and captured his second career title for $58,700. Orpaz outlasted a field of 293 entries over the course of five starting flights and finally took down Jacques Blit from Argentina in a rather quick heads-up match.

The Israeli native was very proud to come out on top of such a stellar field, mostly filled with Brazilians, and lay claim to another five-figure payday. "I actually came here for the SiGMA convention and my son's company got an award," Orpaz mentioned in a post-victory interview. "We took the first award as a small Israeli group and my son told me 'you have to take another award' so that's what I did."

Popolo Limp-Raise Backfires versus Morais

Vincenzo Popolo limped from under the gun, and the player on the button raised to 4,000. Nuno Morais called in the small blind, as did the big blind, before Popolo produced a three-bet to 18,000.

The opener folded, but Morais, who often looks almost personally offended if put in a position where he may have to consider folding, made the call after a fair bit of thought, and the big blind also got out of the way.

The Q♠6♦5♥ flop was checked to the 2♥ turn, where Morais casually flicked out a lead bet of 21,500.

Popolo quickly folded, and Morais tapped the table to himself, it seeming like he was having to resist the strong urge to show a bluff.

Around 14,000 was in the middle on a flop of Q♣J♠8♣, with 6,000 in front of Grzegorz Skawinski, whose bet had been met with an all-in of 23,000 from Alessandro De Marzi.

Tayfun Rodolpu was in the tank, and he eventually folded, quickly followed by Skawinski.

"No!", exclaimed Rodolpu, "I would have called if I'd known you'd fold!". De Marzi claimed there was no chance Rodolpu was good as he raked in the pot.
