Kocz, Palumbo Busto

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jeff Kocz pushed all in and Larry Carney called all in for less. It was a classic race with Carney on {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} versus Kocz' {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

Carney held on a {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs} board, leaving Kocz with a chip and a chair.

He got it in the very next hand with {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. A short stacked Joseph Palumbo ended up all in as well with {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Doug Zimmerman sent them both to the rail when his {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} made a pair.

Raimondi Busts; Block Builds A Lead

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Rick Block
Rick Block

Just before the break, Larry Carney opened under the gun for 37,000. Rick Block made the call and Peter Raimondi defended his big blind.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and after checks from Raimondi and Carney, Block bet 41,000. Both players called. The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and it checked around.

Raimondi led the {4-Clubs} river for 70,000 with heaps in the middle already.

Carney folded, but Block pushed in, having Raimondi covered. Tortured by the decision, Raimondi stood from his chair and mulled it over for several minutes, eventually making the call for his tournament life with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for the flush.

This time Block wasn't bluffing as he rolled over {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for the boat, busting Raimondi and leaping into the chip lead.

Benarroch Busto

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Ariel Benarroch got it in good with queens versus Andy Spears' deuces.

However, Spears spiked a deuce to make a set, bust Benarroch and climb up to 400,000.

Zimmerman Survives

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Doug Zimmerman was down to the wood after making two pair against Rick Block's better two pair.

However, he found a much needed double getting it in with {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} versus a third player's {q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and getting there on an {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs} run out.

Block Chips Up

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Rick Block bet 90,000 into a 200,000-chip pot heads-up with Doug Zimmerman on a {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} board.

Zimmerman called and the river brought the {6-Hearts}. Both players checked.

"One pair," said Block, eventually turning over {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, for the stone cold bluff that got there on the river. Zimmerman mucked.

Zimmerman Pops Santoro

Doug Zimmerman

Carmine Santoro ran {2-Hearts}{2-Spades} into Doug Zimmerman's {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} all in preflop.

After a board of bricks, he hit the rail, Zimmerman chipped up to half a million and they are redrawing for seats at the final three tables with just 30 players remaining.
