Michael Miller Finds Passion in Poker After Injury

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

PokerNews caught up with Michael Miller on break to talk about how he got into poker and what he enjoys about competing in RunGood events.

"Well, when I was in my forties, I blew up my right elbow and I had to give up softball, bowling, and golf, and that's when the poker boom was just beginning. So I got into poker, and the very first bar tournament I played in I came in third place. From there I just loved it and kept coming back."

Having worked in Community Recreation when he was younger, Miller now spends a lot of his time traveling to play poker and has amassed a slew of cashes in the past few years. His most recent victory came at the end of September when he took down the $250 NLH Seniors 50+ Ring Event at the RGPS Grand Prix New Orleans, good for a nice payday of $4,552.

"I like the people. I like the the structures, and the tournament staff is great. And I like the buy-ins, it's not nosebleeds. I just keep coming back because I can play. These are my kind of people for sure and I've been getting some very nice results."
