Caridi's Mistake Becomes a Huge Win

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Giuseppe Caridi
Giuseppe Caridi

Giuseppe Caridi limped in from mid-position, Hanno Offen raised to 3,500 as he was next to act. The player in the cutoff called, so did Branko Samardzic (small blind) and the player in the big blind, and Caridi.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{A-Spades}, Samardzic, the big blind, and Caridi checked. Offen bet 8,200, the cutoff folded, Samardzic called, the big blind folded too. Caridi shoved for 72,000. Offen asked for a count and the dealer confirmed the amount. Offen checked his own stack and realized he would be left with about 13,000 if he lost the hand. He still decided to call. Samardzic folded but showed that he had {Q-}{Q-Clubs}.

Giuseppe Caridi: {K-Spades}{9-Spades}
Hanno Offen: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Caridi had misread his hand, he thought he had king-ten too. But instead, he needed a ten to split or hit runner-runner spades to win.

The turn brought them the {8-Spades} and the river completed the drama with the {2-Spades} so Caridi doubled up.

Teske's Aces Go Down the Drain

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Mike Teske raised from early position to 2,400 and was called by Johannes Wassmuth from one seat over, Christian Neumann on the button and big stack Walid Abdi Ali in the small blind.

The flop fell {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} and the action checked to Wassmuth, who bet 3,600. Neumann called and Ali folded, while Teske called as well. After the {K-Diamonds} turn, Teske checked and was the only one to call a bet of 9,200 by Wassmuth. The {3-Diamonds} river completed the board and Teske moved all in for around 40,000.

Wassmuth called after brief consideration and Teske turned over {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}, which Wassmuth had beat with {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for a full house. Soon after, it was also Wassmuth that sent Hans Kersebom to the rail to become one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Pezelj Forses Out Hoang

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Ivica Pezelj
Ivica Pezelj

With the board showing {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, Ivica Pezelj checked and faced a bet of Chi Quay Hoang for 5,200. Pezelj simply grabbed all his T-5,000 chips and check-raised enough to cover Hoang's remaining stack, which forced a fold from Hoang.

He flashed the {A-Diamonds} and Pezelj returned the favor by turning over the {A-Hearts}. Only a few minutes later, Hoang was sent to the rail while Roberto Manfredi and Patrick Lorenz are also among the bigger stacks on his former table.

Christian Weltz: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
