Manfredi Makes Them Fold

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Jan Timo Jobmann raised to 1,200 from mid-position and was called by Roberto Manfredi, in the cutoff, and Said Hossein Madani, on the button.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}, Jobmann bet 2,100, Manfredi called but Madani folded.

The turn brought them the {J-Hearts} and now Jobmann check-folded to the 3,400 bet of Manfredi.

Haneberg On Top

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Toni Vardjavand called a bet of 9,000 by Daniel Montagnolli on the river of a board {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and the Austrian flashed queen-high, which Vardjavand had beat with {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. Several players tapped the table and said "good call."

This threw Montagnolli off the top of the counts while Andre Haneberg is right there now. He had already built a massive stack and just check-raised Jay Tse after defending his big blind in a three-way pot. The flop showed {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Tse's bet of 1,600 was met by a raise to 4,225 by Haneberg, who forced a fold from the under-the-gun player and Tse. "Do you want to see?" Haneberg asked and offered to show one of his cards.

Tse picked the left card and the {9-Spades} was revealed.

Tomovic Eliminates Gevorgian

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

The flop read {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and Gevorg Gevorgian had bet 1,200 from the hijack. Aleksandar Tomovic had shoved for more than Gevorgian still had behind. He took some time but then called.

Aleksandar Tomovic: {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Gevorg Gevorgian: {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Tomovic had hit a set of kings and Gevorgian had top pair with the aces. He needed some help to survive this all-in.

The turn brought them the {J-Spades} and the {5-Spades} on the river were not the cards he was looking for as he grabbed his stuff and left the tournament area.

Short Day at the Office for Khanafer

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Moussa Khanafer led the PokerStars Open into Day 2 with the biggest stack and busted since, then jumped into the High Roller and busted a few hands later.

Khanafer had flopped bottom set with pocket deuces only to see Rishi Bhasin with {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for the nut flush on the turn. The river was a blank six and Khanafer called all in for the rest of it to see the bad news.

Also in: Thang Duc Nguyen, who entered towards the end of the previous level.

Andersson Among Casualties; Short Stacks Double

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

The second entry of Said Hossein Madani runs far better than the first attempt, as he just sent Fredrick Andersson to the rail.

Gevorg Gevorgian was all in for a mere 4,125 and Peter Jaksland called in the big blind with the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Gevorgian was ahead with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and doubled on a roller coaster board of {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

Thanat Chinphanitkit doubled for 6,600 with {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} versus {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} when spiking a two outer on the board {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{J-Clubs} much to the despise of Daniel Peche.

Salvatore Camarda took a hit when calling the shove of a short stack with {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for second pair and a gutshot only to see his opponent turn over {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for an over pair.

Last but not least, another Italian got value from Hamza Miri and that was Emanuele De Lemmi, who flopped two pair with {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} on the board of {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Miri called a bet of 1,500 on the river and mucked to see both stacks evened out.

Straight on the River for Sonmez

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Erkan Sonmez raised to 1,100 from early position and was called by Florian Bach, in mid-position, and Jesper Feddersen in the small blind.

They all checked through the {6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} on the flop and the {J-Hearts} on the turn. The river completed the board with the {Q-Spades}, Feddersen check-folded to the 2,300 bet of Sonmez. Bach, however, had called but mucked after Sonmez turned {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} around for the rivered straight.

Game Over for Andreev

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Toni Vardjavand inquired about the re-entry option before taking a seat in the last level while Andrey Andreev was already on his second bullet by then. Vardjavand was seated with the Russian and sure enough both clashed soon after.

On a board of {5-}{4-}{2-}{8-}, Andreev got his last 5,000 in with {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for two pair while Vardjavand looked him up with pocket nines. However, the {8-Clubs} on the river paired the board and Andreev's hand was no good anymore. As a result, the Russian became the first player to bust for certain after firing two bullets without success.
