Just before the blinds went up, there was uproar over on table six as a three-way all-in had unfolded. Thijs Hilberts bet a four-way flop of 9♦7♥2♥ to receive one caller and a raiser. Hilberts then jammed with the covering stack and two players committed their chips behind him.
Hilberts revealed the J♦J♣ and was up against K♥9♥ as well as the 10♠8♦ of Won Jae Lee. The 6♣ turn improved Lee and the 4♠ river brought no change anymore.
Fu Chi Sze was flipping for his tournament life with the J♥10♥ and Valeriy Pak looked him up holding the 7♦7♠. The A♥8♣2♠ flop and 3♦ turn were blanks but the 10♠ river came to the rescue for Sze.
Joseph Magnotti defended his big blind against a raise by Alexis Cruz and then check-called for 1,500 on the 9♣9♦4♠ flop. On the 6♣ turn, Magnotti check-called for another 4,000 and checked the 2♠ river. Cruz fired a bet of 16,000 to get snap-called and turned over the 9♠8♦ for trips nines.
Magnotti shook his head as he exposed the 9♥3♥ for the inferior kicker and lost a bigger portion of his stack.
Cruz leaped to two times the starting stack, which is only beaten by the large stack of Wai Keong Yong next to Magnotti.
