Sabat's Kings Cripple Petrone

Eddy Sabat (Day 3)
Eddy Sabat (Day 3)

Ramiro Petrone opened from under the gun, Eddy Sabat three-bet to 55,000 in the cutoff, and Petrone made the call.

The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, Petrone checked, and Sabat continued for 52,000. Petrone check-raised to 122,000, Sabat moved all in for 315,000, and Petrone called.

Sabat: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Petrone: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Sabat faded Petrone's outs as the turn and river came {q-Hearts}, {j-Spades} respectively, and doubled to 750,000 chips. Petrone is down to 95,000.

Rivet On The Up And Up

We caught the action with around 215,000 in the pot and a board reading {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Jerry Wong had just bet 100,000 from the small blind and Guillaume Rivet called from the under-the-gun position.

When the {A-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Wong slowed down with a check and Rivet stared at his own stack for a solid minute before sliding out a big bet of 180,000. Wong insta-mucked and Rivet was pushed the pot.

Philachack Busts

After having his aces cracked by Alexander Ellingsen, Andy Philachack three-bet jammed for around 100,000 over a 20,000-chip open from Patrick Kelly. Eli Berg re-shoved from the big blind, and Kelly folded.

Philachack: {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Berg: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The kings held as the board came {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, and Philachack was eliminated.

Ellingsen Cracks Philachack's Aces to Survive

Alexander Ellingsen was all in and at risk for his last 160,000 or so with {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and was dominated by Andy Philachack's {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

The {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop was huge for Ellingsen, and the {j-Diamonds} on the turn gave him a diamond flush. The {7-Hearts} completed the board, and the Norwegian doubled to 343,000 chips.

Philachack was reduced to just 130,000.

Kramer Runner-Runners Flush To Extend Tournament Life

[Removed:172] was all in preflop for 316,000 holding {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and dominated by the {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} of Marcello Miniucchi. Things looked bleak for Kramer on the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, though he did pick up a runner-runner flush draw.

The {3-Hearts} turn made that a real possibility, while the {4-Hearts} river actually completed it to give Kramer a double and keep his tournament hopes alive.

Petrone Finds two Ladies

Mohsin Charania opened to 21,000 from middle position, Stefano Rossomando three-bet jammed for 197,000 from the cutoff seat, and Ramiro Petrone re-shoved from the small blind. Charania folded.

Rossomando: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Petrone: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Petrone was behind, but the flop produced two queens: {4-Clubs}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. The turn and river came {7-Clubs}, {2-Spades} respectively, and Rossomando was eliminated.

SCOOP Champ Doubles Through A WCOOP Champ

Ryan Fair, who you may know as the 2010 SCOOP Main Event champion, opened for 22,000 from the under-the-gun position and received calls from four other players, which meant it was five-handed action to the {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} flop.

Two checks put action on Fair, who bet 65,000. Michael Malm folded, Darren Elias, who won the 2012 WCOOP $10,300 High Roller event, called from the button, and both blinds got out of the way, making it heads-up action to the {Q-Clubs} turn. This time Fair check-called a bet of 66,000, and then checked the {6-Clubs} river. Elias moved all in and Fair called off holding {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for queens full. Elias then showed {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and watched some chips sent over to a tough opponent.

Mortensen Dominates Khoury... For A Bit

Steven Rosen opened with a raise only to have Carlos Mortensen three-bet to 60,000. Mazin Khoury then moved all in for 119,000 total, Rosen folded, and Mortensen snap-called with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, which had the {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} of Khoury crushed.

The {3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop was nothing special, but the {Q-Diamonds} turn was as it delivered Khoury his three outer. Neither Khoury nor Mortensen so much as flinched, and the latter paid off the former after the {3-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Knebel Knocked Out

We caught up to find Paul Knebel all in and at risk before the flop for his last 290,000 holding {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Knebel was racing with Matthew Reed's {A-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}.

Knebel retained his lead through the {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop and the {8-Clubs} turn. The river, however, was the {K-Clubs}, and Knebel was forced for an early exit here on Day 4.
