Two Double Ups on the Bubble

Two all in and call at separate tables were announced and the first was a double up with aces versus ace-king. In the second hand the camera crew rushed to the table of Open Event runner up Joey Weissman, who had called the river shove of Narcis Gabriel Neceldu with the board showing {Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Once the cameras were in place, Weissman turned over {A-Spades}{3-Spades} for the nut flush and Nedelcu had to pay off 2.21 million with {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for the inferior flush.

Tarmi's Aces Get Cracked

Roope Tarmi shoved foe 2.75 million from the button and Kenneth Smaron looked him up from the small blind with the superior stack.

The {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} board gave Smaron a set of jacks and Tarmi departed just shy of the money. The clocks were stopped right after and the tournament will continue hand-for-hand three off the money shortly.

Konopelko Doubles

Bart Lybaert oopened two hands in a row and faced resistance both times. Mustapha Kanit three-bet all in and showed {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} when the Belgian folded.

The next hand Lybaert opened again and Erik Friberg three-bet on the button to 1.4 million. Andrei Konopelko four-bet all in for 1.785 million and that forced out the big blind and Lybaert, Friberg quickly called.

Kortas Forces Out De Meulder

After an open raise by Matthias De Meulder, Ghattas Kortas in the cutoff three-bet to 890,000 and De Meulder four-bet to 1.95 million, which Kortas called. On the {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop, De Meulder continued for 1.375 million to pick up a call.

The {2-Hearts} fell on the turn and De Meulder checked, Kortas moved all in and that ended the hand right there.

Chmiel Doubles; Trickett Folds to Jam

With almost 5 million in the middle and the board reading {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, Evangelos Bechrakis moved all in out of the big blind against Sam Trickett. The Brit asked for a count, and the jam was for 4.37 million, before using two time bank chips and folding.

Bechrakis offered his opponent to pick one card, and Trickett revealed the {4-Diamonds}. "You probably had the best hand. Pocket fours?!"

One table over, Thomas Muehloecker raised to 300,000 and called the shove of short stack Tomasz Chmiel with {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Chmiel had the superior {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and held up on a board of {8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Schwippert Bests Ruge

Arne Ruge was spotted while leaving the tournament area while fellow German raked in the chips. Schwippert, who started the day with just 780,000 for 11 big blinds, sits on a monster stack of 22 million.

According to the German he had raised and called the three-bet jam by Ruge for 3.3 million with {A-}{10-}, Ruge only had {K-}{10-} and failed to connect with the board.

Dominik Nitsche sent an opponent to the rail while Ognyan Dimov score a fortunate double. The Bulgarian jammed for 1.91 million in late position and Sam Trickett in the cutoff asked for a count, then just called and was the only player to do so.
