Edgardo Bastias Eliminated in 14th Place ($5,360)

Edgardo Bastias - 14th place
Edgardo Bastias - 14th place

Action folded to Javier Venegas in the small blind and he put in a raise to 40,000 holding {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Edgardo Bastias was in the big blind and opted to move all in for 190,000 with {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}, which Venegas called.

It was a race and Bastias was looking to dodge big cards. The {J-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop provided plenty of big cards, but didn't hit Venegas directly. Unfortunately for Bastias, the {Q-Hearts} turn did. The {4-Spades} river provided no relief and Bastias hit the rail in 14th place, earning $5,360 for his deep run.

Yacin Vasquez Eliminated in 15th Place ($4,900)

Yacin Vasquez - 15th place
Yacin Vasquez - 15th place

Action folded to Yacin Vasquez on the button and he moved all in for approximately 200,000. Waldermar Barrientos was next to act in the small blind and made the call, while the big blind got out of the way.

Barrientos{A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Vasquez{K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The {6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop wasn't particularly exciting, while the {10-Spades} turn left Vasquez looking for either a jack or king on the river to stay alive. The dealer burned and put out the {9-Clubs}. Vasquez couldn't catch and he was eliminated from the tournament in 15th place.

Rodrigo Quezada Eliminated in 16th Place ($4,510)

Rodrigo Quezada - 16th place
Rodrigo Quezada - 16th place

We're not sure of the action, but we do know that Rodrigo Quezada was recently eliminated after his {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} failed to over come the {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} of Javier Venegas. Quezada was eliminated in 16th place and will take home $4,510.

Golin Doubles

Jose Luis Golin raised all in from the hijack for 102,000 holding {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and was called by the {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} Waldermar Barrientos in the big blind. The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and Golin received a much-needed double.

Ace on the Turn Saves Escobar and Cripples Golin

Jose Luis Golin opened for 36,000 from the cutoff only to have Sergio Escobar move all in from the small blind for 194,000. Golin made a quick call and was way out in front.

Showdown

Escobar{A-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Golin{K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The {6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop wasn't very exciting, but after the {A-Diamonds} hit the turn, Escobar ran off the stage to his friends on the rail to celebrate. The {Q-Diamonds} river changed nothing and Golin was left shaking his head in disgust.

Venegas Up to Batt

Nicholas Batt opened for 33,000 from middle position only to have Javier Venegas three-bet to 69,000 from the button. Both blinds got out of the way, Batt called, and the flop came out {10-Hearts}{J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. Batt check-called a bet of 60,000 before both players checked the {J-Hearts} turn. When the {A-Hearts} appeared on the river, Batt check and Venegas fired out 135,000. This time Batt folded and Venegas took down the hand without a showdown.

Daniela Horno Eliminated in 17th Place ($4,180)

Daniela Horno
Daniela Horno

Action folded around to Daniela Horno on the button and she opted to ship her 20-big-blind stack with {A-Spades}{4-Spades}. It was enough to get the small blind to fold, but not Nicholas Batt in the big as he looked down at {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and made the call.

The railbirds were on their feet at the flop came down {3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Horno got a little help, but needed more. The {8-Hearts} turn was not it, and neither was the {2-Diamonds} river. Horno, who began the day as chip leader, was eliminated in 17th place for $4,180. She was clearly disappointed, but another deep run on the heels of last year's sixth-place finish is a very impressive feat.
