Victor Ilyukhin Sr. at an earlier PokerStars event

Earlier Victor Ilyukhin Sr. was down to his last 5,000 chips, which at this early stage was still plenty. However, judging by his empty seat and the tournament clock showing an elimination, it's safe to say that Ilyukhin is no longer with us.

This event is re-entry, with players allowed up to three bullets - one in each starting flight. We will have to wait and see whether he is back at midday tomorrow for Day 1b.

Whole Lotta Raising Going On

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

Laurent [Removed:250] checked a {10-Spades}{q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop to Rafael Bairamov who bet 2,000. [Removed:250] check-raised to 5,500 and Bairamov called.

The turn was the {6-Spades}. [Removed:250] continued for 7,500 and Bairamov raised to 15,000. [Removed:250] took a moment before re-raising all in for 34,500. Bairamov tanked but eventually folded.

Both players had chipped up over starting stack, but [Removed:250] now sits on double what he started the tournament with.
