Bakes Sits, Bakes Wins

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

David "Bakes" Baker just took his seat in the EPT10 London Main Event, and won a nice-sized pot straightaway. He and two opponents saw a flop of {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, and the action checked to Baker who fired out 650. Only Mario Adinolfi called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, both players knuckled, and the river brought the {5-Diamonds}. Adinolfi checked a third and final time, and Baker tossed out three red T1,000 chips. The Italian mulled the decision over for 20 seconds or so, called, then mucked when Baker tabled {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a full house.

A Bad Card for Jorgensen's Hand

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen's unfortunate level continued with him leading out for 3,000 on a board of {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{a-Spades}{5-Hearts}. His opponent, Javier Etayo, called, and the {j-Clubs} completed the board. Both players checked.

"That was a bad card for me," the Dane sighed, showing {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for aces and jacks with a five kicker.

Etayo rolled over {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for aces and jacks with a ten kicker, raking in the pot.

Cody Continues to Ascend

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody has continued his good start.

On the turn of a {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts} board, he fired 1,300 after William Elliot had checked. Elliot called before also checking the {J-Hearts} river. Cody thought for a minute about betting before eventually checking back.

Elliot flipped {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} but it was no good against the youngster's {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Finne Finds a Fold

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Timothy Finne and two opponents took a flop of {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}. The action checked to Oliver Price, who fired out 850, and Finne called. A third player check-raised to 2,325, and Finne called.

Finne check-called another 4,525 when the {8-Clubs} turned, and then check-folded to a 5,300 bet after the {7-Hearts} completed the board.

Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen isn't doing quite so well as his fourth place finish here last year.

He check-called a bet of 2,000 on the turn of a {10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} board against Mario Chiang Guanilo and then another 3,500 on the Ts river.

Guanilo turned over {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} - too good for the Dane.

The venue for EPT London is steeped in history. Created by the freemasons it has provided the creative spark for all sorts of organisations that followed. That now includes the European Poker Tour. And just in case that “spark” causes a fire there are people ready to marshal it, as the PokerStars Blog reports.
