Sunami Overpowers Kilarjian

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

James Kilarjian is out, having nursed a start-of-day short stack and found a favourable spot for a shove with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} on the cutoff. He'd raised initially (4k), then found button Surinder Sunar three-betting him to 10,000. He shoved for a further 33,000 and Sunar made the call with {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}. This quickly overtook Kilarjian, the board coming {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and the exiting American left with a gentlemanly, "Good luck, man."

Brenes Exits

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Humberto Brenes
Humberto Brenes

Team Pro Humberto Brenes is out of the Main Event, despite the best efforts of his {A-Spades}{J-Spades} and his trademark 'chark'. Brenes shoved preflop from the big blind into three potential callers - but only one looked him up for a further 11,200, with {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

The flop came down {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Brenes stood up, turning on his plastic shark's red eyes and saying what sounded like, "Nye-nye-nye!"

The turn and river fell {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}; Brenes fist-bumped the dealer anyway and headed out.

Reynolds Approaching 200,000 mark

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
William Reynolds
William Reynolds

William Reynolds opened to 2,800 from early position before Jose Obadia Chocron moved all in for his last 26,300. Niklas Toorell flat-called in the small blind but Reynolds then slid out a stack of 100,000 chips.

Toorell did not look as though he had been expecting this and tanked for several minutes before Carter Phillips called the clock. Toorell folded and Reynolds showed {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} to Chocron's {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. The board came {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{A-Hearts} and the former PCA High Roller winner added to his stack which is now approaching the 200,000 mark.

Sarah Grant caught up with Carter Phillips on the first break to talk about this table.
