On a heads-up flop of K♥7♠2♥, Sergei Aleksejev got his stack of 20,700 into the middle against Acid Nilsen.

Nilsen was ahead with his pair but the nut flush draw instantly connected with the J♥ turn to make the A♠ river a formality.
With 6,000 in the middle to the K♥8♥5♣ flop, the action checked to Ralf Rogov and he bet 1,500. Torleiv Gronbech check-called and Ivar Simmer then check-raised to 5,400. All his opponents folded and Simmer grinned a "thank you" while collecting the pot.
One hand later, an open raise to 1,100 saw Gronbech jam his short stack of 11,000 and that got through uncontested.
On the tail end of the A♣Q♠7♣9♣J♦ board, Pekka Ikonen bet 9,000 and Ott-Kaarli Toome reluctantly tossed in a single chip for the call. Ikonen rolled over the 8♠7♠ for bottom pair and Toome won the pot with the A♦J♣.
Soon after the end of the first break, Ranno Sootla was spotted at the registration desk. The fifth on the Estonian all-time money list has entered Day 1a and is one of the most notable players in contention. In a three-bet pot with around 13,000 in the middle to the A♠7♣6♣ flop, Terje Sirnes in the small blind bet 4,500 and big stack Jhonro Magno called in the hijack. The J♣ fell on the turn and Sirnes checked. Magno pushed all-in and Sirnes quickly called.

Sirnes needed another club but bricked the 5♦ river to become the next casualty of Magno's hot run early on Day 1a.
"The Doyle, I had to honour him," Magno said while raking in the pot.
Sami Natri pushed all-in for 6,900 and was called by table chip leader Russel Wheatley from two seats over, all other players folded.

Keimo Suominen raised the button and called a three-bet to 6,000 by Anders Bjorkheim in the big blind. On the J♣4♦3♠ flop, Bjorkheim seized down to 2,000 for Suominen to call. He then checked the J♥ turn and check-called Suominen's bet of 5,500. They checked the 6♠ on the river and Bjorkheim tabled the J♠J♦ for quads.
"I was lucky, if you push I have to call," Suominen said in table chat.
