Palermo was ahead for now with top pair and double backdoor flush draw against the wrap of Hundt. However, his lead was short-lived as the 8♦ came on the turn to complete Hundt's straight. Palermo still had a gutter to a higher straight, but it did not come on the A♠ river, and he was eliminated.
James Carroll limped in from middle position before Michael Hernandez raised to 20,000 in the cutoff. Marc Geissel called on the button, while Brandon Mueller then three-bet to 92,000 in the big blind. Carroll folded, and Hernandez then moved all in for 308,000. Geissel folded, and Mueller snap-called.
