Moorman No More

Level 14 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Jonathan Clark defended his big blind against a raise by Pascal Pflock in the cutoff and check-called the {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} flop for 25,000. On the {5-Hearts} turn, Clark bet 100,000 and was called before making it 300,000 to go on the {9-Clubs} river.

Pflock called both bets and was shown the {7-}{6-} by Clark, which he had beat with {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} to drag in yet another massive pot.

Chris Moorman three-bet all in for 10 big blinds out of the big blind and Matas Cimbolas called on the button.

Chris Moorman: {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Matas Cimbolas: {A-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The board came {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Cimbolas sent the 888poker ambassador to the rail.

Donoghue Doubles Into the Lead

Level 14 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Martin Donoghue
Martin Donoghue

The pot wasn't as big until the {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} turn, but then both big stacks Martin Donoghue and Vadim Cojocaru got their stacks in with Donoghue at risk for 521,000.

Martin Donoghue: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Vadim Dojocaru: {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

The {4-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and Cojocaru was left with just over one big blind.

First Break of the Day

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Four levels of 30 minutes each have reduced the field dramatically and there are only 19 players remaining, the first break of 15 minutes has kicked in.

The final hand on table four brought some action and it was Chris Da-Silva that faced a bet of 25,000 by Martin Donoghue and a call by Vadim Cojocaru in the big blind. Da-Silva check-shoved for 223,000 from under the gun, which prompted Donoghue to use two time banks to fold. Cojocaru had two time banks left over, used both of them and folded as well.

Da-Silva flashed the {A-Diamonds} and claimed the pot before heading into the break.

Nitsche Busts Foord-Brown

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Down to around 210,000, Francis Foord-Brown moved all in and was called by Dominik Nitsche two seats over on the button.

Francis Foord-Brown: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Dominik Nitsche: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Foord-Brown paired up on the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, but the {K-Clubs} turn returned the lead to Nitsche. Left with kings and queens as outs, Foord-Brown had some hope still, but the {8-Hearts} river was not what he was looking for.

Song Drops Two Pots

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Yiqian Song battled with Ben Philipps and folded the {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} river when facing a bet of 85,000 by Philipps on the button.

Song then raised to 20,000 and Dominik Nitsche three-bet all in, having his opponent covered by now. Song folded once more.

Over on table four, Morten Christensen has disappeared and Thomas Muehloecker almost closed the gap to Vadim Cojocaru.

Hizer Jams Up His stack; Loeser Busts to Cimbolas

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Paul Hizer raised and Yiqian Song three-bet to 65,000 only for Hizer to four-bet to 170,000. Song, who came into the day as the chip leader, gave it some thought and called after using one time bank extension.

Both opted to check the {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop and Hizer then moved all in after the {10-Hearts} turn. Song asked for a count and, once it was deemed to be for 259,000, sent his cards into the muck.

Only a few minutes later on the same table, Manig Loeser was all in with the {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Matas Cimbolas called with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. There was no help for Loeser on a board of {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and he exited the tournament area.

Down to 22 Players

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

There are only 22 players remaining spread over the last three tables and Conor Beresford, as well as Matt Perrins, had become the last two casualties.

Perrins had jammed for around 80,000 and was called by Vadim Cojocaru to set up the following showdown:

Matt Perrins: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Vadim Cojocaru: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The board came {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and that was it for Perrins.

Sow Doubles Through Nitsche

Level 12 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The start for Dominik Nitsche had been excellent as the 888poker ambassador more than quadrupled his stack since entering on Day 2. He just took a minor hit when Kalidou Sow doubled through him for 78,500 with {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} versus {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The board came {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Sow got the double with queens and tens.

Thomas Muehloecker had sent Ajay Kejriwal to the rail and Morten Christensen then doubled through Muehloecker. Christensen was all in for 129,000 with {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and won the flip against {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} thanks to a board of {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}.
